Evati V/ Aldodan Constellation/ Metropolis Region Boundless Creation Factory Complex
The Boundless Creation factory was nestled in the middle of a canyon floor, protected on all sides from the full force of the ever present high winds that scoured the surface of Evati V with a constant blast of wind borne debris. The canyon based location also provided an added level of security from ground based optical surveillance from corporate adversaries or criminal enterprises that might exhibit interest in the activities taking place in the factory. The entire complex was ringed by a paved access road upon which massive cargo haulers were meant to lumber weighted down by the tonnage of ores and or processed minerals they carried to and fro to feed the around the clock appetite of the manufacturing process. The primary processing plant was in the south quadrant of the factory complex that was laid out in a fairly typical configuration despite it's location 150 meters deep amidst the towering canyon walls, a single four lane road that bisecting the complex northwest to southeast wound it's way east following the circuitous path of the canyon's long dried up riverbed towards the closet settlement where the workers that operated the factory lived 25 kilometers away as the crow flies, but a long dull 75 kilometer drive along the winding riverbed path.
The steep sloped canyon walls were rugged jagged inhospitable barriers upon which the stubborn native flora and fauna desperately clung and scratched out a difficult existence in the numerous caves, crevices, and rocky pinnacles gouged from the gray rocky surface by both wind and water. The canyon floor itself was subjected to a constant swirl of descending dust and debris from the wind swept top of the canyon that resulting in a soot gray cloud that slowly covered everything in a fine gritty gray dust shroud that limited optical visibility clarity and even disrupted thermal scanning to a lesser amount. The shelter of the canyon meant people working there did not have to armor themselves against the wind swept debris but the ever present dust required every inhabitant to wear a breather device of some sort to filter out the dust and alien spores that would happily take up residence in an extremely detrimental fashion in the human respiratory system.
The factory complex was remote but nonetheless well protected with five anti-spacecraft gun emplacements, designated on the tactical network called GÇ£tacnetGÇ¥ as Alpha through Echo, that constantly hurled angry bolts of plasma charged destruction towards the MCC's that deposited and supported the mercenary clones of both the attackers and the defenders of the facility, gaining control of them was as always an essential priority. Surveying the battlefield Temba saw the armored calvary had made their initial drop in the northwest quadrant where their MCC hovered taking fire from three of the five surface gun emplacements controlled at the moment by mercenaries contracted with him to defend the facility. However the two emplacements the Amarr cultist did control, Delta and Echo, were on opposite east and west sides of the complex providing them with a kill zone that flanked the central portions of the facility. Removing the mercenaries and any drop links or clone reanimation units they had deposited on the surface was the first order of business after securing the majority of the gun emplacements.
So far the Amarr cultists had not deployed any HAVs and were probing the defensive responses with fast moving LAVs that darted in between the now abandoned cargo haulers that littered the roadways. Temba had taken control of a large railgun turret that controlled a kill zone that encompassed one half of the eastern ringed paved road and almost two thirds of the road bisecting the complex. Temba ordered a squad to take control of the Delta gun emplacement and as they moved southeast from the supply depot that was northwest of Delta their movement triggered the response from the attackers Temba had anticipated, suddenly two HAV's tethered to dropships descended from the skies angling for a sheltered landing behind the structures in the northwest quadrant.
Temba quickly locked onto one HAV with his turret while ordering the four anti-armor squad members hidden high up in the scaffolding behind the central tower to target the other. Swarm launchers spit forth torrents of spiraling missiles fit with anti-ecm modules that converged on the HAV before it even hit the ground, Temba could image the profanity being hurled at them by the HAV operator as he watched his vehicle take a sustained pounding while he was unable to defend it, the shield quickly evaporated and the armor began to shed in fiery particles plummeting towards the ground. The turret rounds also found their way home with devastating effect upon the other HAV that dangled in it's descent rocked by the repeated impacts.
The first HAV touched down and it's operator sprinted forward towards it to back it out of harms way. A single round from a sniper rifle slammed into the right side of his chest spinning him around like a rag doll, the clone within demonstrated an amazing toughness staying on his feet after experiencing the huge kinetic impact of the high velocity round, it was however to no avail because the second round that targeted him as he struggled to maintain balance was a head shot and his lifeless armored body tumbled backwards to the ground just as another volley of swarm missiles wreathed his HAV in a destructive orange and black blossom of a fiery final explosion. |

The other HAV faired better it dropped behind the shelter of the structures at the far end of the complex before Temba could chew a little more then forty percent of it's armor away, it's shields had failed, but they could regenerate. The Amarr cultist knew unless they eliminated both the anti-armor swarm launchers and his turret getting their HAV's to the surface was going to be a costly time consuming affair, and time was not on their side because three fifths of the defensive guns were eroding the shields of their MCC at a faster rate then they were damaging the MCC of the defenders. A solo HAV against four swarm launchers and a turret would require both skill and luck to just survive, let alone be effective on the battlefield.
Temba had researched the tactics employed by these particular Amarr cultists and knew they were highly skilled, in both of his two primary squads he had one demolitions sapper, a member who carried explosives that could be triggered by either proximity of enemy movement or remote commands.
To the northwest of Alpha security alarms flashed indicating the enemy was trying to hack into the automated gun turret, this probably indicated the enemy would make a central thrust towards Alpha and continue on to secure Delta before it could be taken and control transferred to the defenders. It was a good move on the part of the attackers and it afforded them good cover from the range of the turret Temba controlled and if they successfully controlled Alpha they would be both in front of and behind the swarm launchers position up in the scaffolding which would have compromised them immediately. Almost on cue two more HAV's began their descent along with two LAVs as the ground troops surged towards Alpha and the HAV already on the ground rolled out from behind cover and started pounding the shields of Temba's turret.
Because the HAV on the ground had not had time to completely restore it's armor Temba issued orders for his swarm launchers to target it and ignore the dangling targets of the incoming HAVs for the moment, he fired of a last round before his turret's shields failed and he stepped back and started regenerating the armor that would quickly peel away from the assault issuing from the HAV. It was a calculated risk on the part of the HAV driver that he'd be able to destroy the turret before the swarm launchers could finish him off, it might have succeeded if Temba had not been repairing the armor with nanite technology.
The Hav began to slowly rumble back towards cover when it realized the armor of the turret dipped then began to increase after each round he fired slammed into it, he decided to rotate his turret up towards where the swarm launchers fired volleys of missiles at him and they quickly scrambled for cover after loosing another deadly volley. As the HAV turret tracked up to fire a blast into the scaffolding their missiles exploded all along his hull finishing off his regenerated shields and further peeling his armor, his shot caught one of the members of the swarm launcher team and instantly he was completely gone in a flash.
The other three members of the team scrambled around to the other side of the building and out of targeting range of the HAV on the ground, immediately Temba ordered them to now target one of the descending HAVs. Temba stopped repairing the armor and once again took control of his turret and slammed two quick rounds into the grounded HAV, to his great satisfaction it erupted into a tower of flames and three enemy fof icons vanished from his hud. Suddenly a massive series of explosions shook the ground as his sappers detonated mines as the Amarr cultist swarmed into Alpha in an attempt to gain control of it only to be greeted by death as their entire squad was engulfed in the blasts.
The Amarr cultists lost control of Delta to Temba's roving squad, and failed to capture Alpha, but they had succeeded in getting two more Havs and two LAVs on the ground behind the shelter of the buildings in the northwest quadrant. Temba quickly dialed in their coordinates and called for an orbital strike. To his great surprise the pilot that acknowledged his strike order was his boss Ray Mitar high overhead in space piloting a Minmatar Thrasher class destroyer modified to implement orbital to ground strikes, eight turrets locked onto the coordinates he had sent just as two additional enemy HAVs and Lavs began their descent. The timing proved disastrous for the Amarrian cultists as the deadly bombardment rained down upon them Temba registered four HAV destructions, four LAV destructions, and 14 enemy fof icons flash red then vanish. In a brief moment the enemy had lost six HAVs, and were sustaining increased damage to their MCC as four gun emplacements, having hammered it's shields down to zero, chewed hungrily into the armor.
It was no doubt an unforeseen occurrence by the battle planners on the other side that they would lose six HAV's and succeed in killing only one opposing clone soldier in the process but it had happened, the rest of the fight was merely a battle of attrition, demoralized and taken out of their comfort zone the armored calvary was not even able to hold onto Echo and were pushed back further until they made a last stand huddled behind the structures in the northwest quadrant pinned down by sniper, turret, and forge gunner rounds. Their MCC exploded under the relentless barrage from all five defensive guns and the clones stranded on the surface either suicided to return to a safe location or were hunted down by Temba's clean up squads, all the enemy clones had perished along with a staggering amount of heavy equipment loss. The com chatter was alive with post combat reviews and celebrations of everyones performance the triple triple HAV kills and the total of 5 HAV and six LAVs kills credited to Temba elicited whistles of amazement, the effectiveness of the orbital strike had broken the back of the attack. |

Temba had completed the fight with 21 kills and zero loses, overall his team had only suffered 42 total kills and inflicted 150 against their opponents, a more then respectable post battle kill to death ratio.
Temba had completed his initial contractual obligation by defending the factory but he now had further duties to perform on behalf of the EAD, he trudged his way down into the center of the factory complex trying to ignore the corpses of the civilian workers that littered the grounds in pools of black blood that had absorbed the falling gray dust and changed color. Here and there survivors huddled in what had proven to be safe havens and as the shooting and explosions stopped some dared to venture out. Having been contracted to protect the facility Temba had full access to the communications systems, he triggered a prerecorded message that was played throughout the factory.
GÇ£Employees of Boundless Creations you have just survived a criminal attack upon our facility. As is always the case the company employs security forces to protect and defend it's assets, facilities, interests, and employees. The Mercenary commander who has defeated the criminal attackers is Temba Fusrodah, you are to give him and his forces all required assistance in securing the facility until operations can resume on a normal schedule. You all know company emergency protocols, implement them now, get any fires under control, attend to the injured, bury the dead with dignity, and stand strong. Corporate security will be on planet in a matter of days to relieve the mercenaries until that time follow their instructions and give no accounts of this attack to any media source whatsoever, you are all subject to your terms of employment NDAs, no details can even be discussed with your family members upon penalty of termination, severe financial penalties, and imprisonment. We will prosecute to the full extent of the law anyone who breaches the NDA. We will not tolerate corporate treason by revealing information that could negatively impact stock values. Be strong, be loyal, be silent. Now continue to do the jobs we are paying you to do and enjoy the combat bonuses you have all just earned, that's an additional 15% of your total contract, and now you know why it's such a high rate, we pay for and expect the best out of you even in the most harsh of times.GÇ¥
The message was played back and repeated through every communication device in the factory, deep within in the emergency bunkers frightened workers hugged each other in joy about their mutual survival. Safety workers started to spill out of their shelters to assess the damage and any ongoing future hazards, along the road truckers who had taken refuge in the canyon walls slowly started making their way back towards their vehicles.
Temba had a LAV stationed at each access route to the factory complex, no one was entering or leaving until he had turned over the base to Boundless Creations corporate security in three days at the earliest, garrison duty was not what he liked but it came with every victory, you have to hold what you have won.

Evati V/ Aldodan Constellation/ Metropolis Region Boundless Creation Factory Complex
Temba keyed in the access codes he had been given by the EAD and the locked doors of the central offices sprang open, he was going to the main IT server room that was two levels below ground that had been evacuated and sealed off as soon as the attack had begun. He entered another set of codes and the elevator that would take him down opened and he was staring at the business end of a shotgun that was shakily being pointed in his direction by a young Boundless Creation employee, who stammered out GÇ£Get the hell back, no one can be allowed down to IT until corporate security arrives.GÇ¥ Temba smiled a little to himself safely behind his faceplate at the courage of the youngster standing in front of him GÇ£ I am Temba Fusrodah commander of the forces that just protected this factory from attack, and contracted by Boundless Creations to secure this entire facility, including IT.GÇ¥
GÇ£Yeah well I got my orders so nobody is going down there.GÇ¥ the shaking of the shotgun reduced a bit as the kid started to pass beyond the initial waves of adrenalin that must have flushed through his system as the elevator doors had opened. GÇ£Listen kid even if you managed to kill me with that shotgun, I'm a clone soldier, I'd just reanimate in a CRU outside and be really pissed with you. Now trust me when I say you never want an Armored heavily armed soldier pissed at you when you're standing around in your cargo pants, pullover hooded sweat shirt, sports shoes, and breather mask.GÇ¥
As the kid blinked in shock at the realization that he was in a standoff with a clone soldier Temba swiftly swept the shotgun from his hands and used the power in his gauntleted hands to bend the barrel, the kid stumbled backwards against the elevator wall in fear, eyes widening. Temba dropped the now useless shotgun to the ground outside the elevator stepped in and punched the button for sub level two before turning to face the terrified employee as the doors closed behind him.
GÇ£I am going to give you a few words of warning to go along with the gift of continued life I have already just given you. Number one, never threaten anyone with a gun, either use it immediately or don't bring it out at all. Number two, flesh and blood versus armor almost never ends well for flesh and blood. Number three, don't be a damn fool, anyone who was prepared enough to have the code to this elevator would not let anyone stand in their way, least of all one skinny IT tech with a consumer grade shotgun. Now when I get out I want you to ride the elevator back upstairs and not return to IT until corporate security shows up, also promise me you won't waste the life I just allowed you to keep on living.GÇ¥ GÇ£Yee.. yes sirGÇ¥ was all the tech could stammer out. Temba exited the elevator to the rapid staccato of the tech pressing the close door and up buttons.
Temba sat at the main terminal and plugged himself into the system with the wireless hacking modules the EAD had enhanced in his suit, for whatever reason they wanted a complete copy of all the data in the Boundless Creation servers and Temba was in the process of establishing that link with his boss Ray Mitar in low orbit above Evati V. Even though he was somewhat uncomfortable with it, security protocols demanded they only use first names or mission specific call signs when engaging in voice communication, GǣRay please confirm synchronicity between hunter and gathererGǥ after a few moments of silence Ray responded GǪ. GǣGatherer confirms synchronicity, all lights are green TembaGǥ and all the lights remained green for the 90 minutes it took to copy every bit of data connected to the Boundless Creations New Eden database. |
