Me and another ADS pilot just got instantly killed by hitting each other while dogfighting twice in the same game. Why do we instantly die on contact with an enemy aerial vehicle? Where is the logic in that mechanic. |

But you don't insta pop. You take damage yes but it's logical amounts. |

I find it an excellent method of taking out enemy ADSes with a militia dropship. It's typically rather amusing. But hardly reasonable. |

The infantry collision system is different from the DS vs DS collision system. What is happening right now is that infantry is getting hit numerous times per second by the LAV's causing them to die almost instantly. They post you quoted is saying that under the new system the LAV's will only hit infantry once and if they are not killed by that single strike they will get pushed out of the way.
I don't think that this applies to any vehicles hitting each other though. The damage vehicles take from impacts with each other and with terrain is a direct result of the dropship squishing infantry tactics that were used heavily in the E3 build oh so long ago. While I do think that CCP is working on refining vehicle collisions in 1.5 I don't think your going to see any changes in 1.4. |

+1, I see this happening a lot. Same if a tank hits an LAV at low speed.
I think in the case of dropships, the mechanic would be easy. At high speed, of course they blow up. But at lower speeds, if they just clip each other or a building, they should just take some damage based on speed and also have them thrown into a tailspin and give the pilot a chance to recover. That's fair. |
