Can someone clear something up for me please?
I keep seeing the number 190,400 as the weekly skill cap.
From my understanding this is the amount of SP that can be earned each week before capping and booster SP is not taken into account with this number.
SO
If 190,400 can be earned each week without a booster, with a booster (190,400 x 1.5) 285,600 SP may be earned per week before cap.
Without a passive booster, passive gives 24,000 x 7 totalling 168,000, and with a booster 36,000 x 7 gives a total of 252,000 SP.
SO
If my understanding is correct, and please feel free to correct me if I've picked this up wrong, then the following is true (If you hit cap each week) -
MAX SP Per Week without a booster is - 190,400 + 168,000 = 358,400 SP MAX SP Per Week with passive and active boosters - 285,600 + 252,000 = 537,600 SP
So less than 200k SP per week for how much? Anyone know what a 7 day passive and 7 day active equates to in real money? |

Dude, I've been preaching about boosters needing more value per money. I've stopped buying them because they barely make a difference. It's more psychological than anything, but once you get past "oh no, i'm making marginally less SP than I used to", running without boosters is no big deal. |

30 Day active from the pack and then use the 40k Aurum for the 30 day passive?

Yeah I can understand where your coming from with that. I'm kinda stuck in that loop at the moment. I work away from home a lot so if I don't have a passive booster running I feel like I'm lagging. |

Boosters don't raise cap. They count towards your cap and just make you reach it faster. |

Not entirely sure that's true.
Check here - YOU TUBE DUST Tactics vid by CEO Pyrex.
If you jump to 11.06 you can see his SP remaining is 340,410 if you subtract the amount earned in game 7,684 it leaves him with his remaining SP for the week of 332,726. His bonus SP of 3,842 is not factored into this hence why I was asking the question at the top of this thread. |

Wrong. They don't raise cap technically because the bonus sp does not count twords your cap. It is just extra sp, that is how ccp wants it. If you watch the little animation after a battle you will notice that only the non boosted sp will be taken away from your cap but you will still gain the boosted sp as well.
Tl;dr boosted sp is not counted twords cap but does increas how much you get per week if you do cap. |

No they don't affect the cap. Easiest example is watch your wheel at end game. Boost doesn't count towards sp cap.... |

This is very late in the curent game to worry about this. in 1.4 the system is getting changed greatly and focusing more on daily login bonuses from what i understand in the patch notes. I could be wrong on this though but 1.4 looks like its changing the whole weekly cap thing totally. |

The weekly cap isn't changing at all, it's going to be the same deal of 190,400 skill points per week and 50% more that doesn't count towards the cap if you have boosters. All the daily login bonus is going to do is add another means for extra points. |

i just wonder why someone would pay for a unfinished product!? Yes its f2p but if you had to by the game i think gamestop would be overheating at the return counter.. And to you guys out there who do pay for boosters its cool that you help and support the game i did get a few mercpacks myself before uprising. but the arrogance and greed from ccp's marketing department kinda killed it for me.
ohh one last thing i find it really sad when i read all the excuses why we dont have this and that ingame (pve, suits, etc.) its always the same that they are refocusing to get the "core" right WTF did they do with the 1 year of beta???

If you want to game to progress you have to pay something, or you can mooch off of all the other guys who pay and no one will think any less of you. It may be unfinished and CCP may make some really questionable calls but I'd be lying if I said I was getting entertainment value out of their product.

this is a terrible attitude to have. the whole development model for this game, just like EVE, is continuous development. That means that the content will never be "finished", as there will constantly be new additions over time.
That aside,
@OP: ~200k sp per week doesn't seem like much, but over a number of months you earn 50% more SP than other people. To put this in context, I don't use boosters and I have capped every week since the last full wipe. I have just shy of 15mil SP. I have friends who have ~22.5m SP. That is almost an entire specialisation. Boosters make a difference. |

I played and gave feedback constantly during beta
now not so much most stuff u suggest they don't make happen many of the core flaws we all suggested a year ago and they ignored us
atleast from my understanding the CPM is trying to hold CCP responsible for the current state of the game and hopefully they fixed some in 1.4 and 1.5 after that if its taking months to get this back on track ill move on until I see improvements |
