I have been spider tanking with my gunloggi healing my corps tanks. I had a member throw on enough armor to have 10,000 armor and guess what happened? he was able to outrun me. A -47% movement speed, if I recall correctly, was able to outrun a no armor gunloggi.
Will this be fixed in the upcoming update?
So glad blam and his team are gone. |

It's not movement speed but acceleration that plates modify, I thought. |

Either or. he takes off faster than me and leaves me behind slowly. |

Does he use Nitrous? Overdrives? These help with reaching top speed, but only the Nitrous affects your maximum speed.
I use a militia overdrive on my sniper tank, it helps a lot with movement, especially on uneven terrain. |

Both tanks were standard Gunnlogis? No Falchions or whatever they are? Everything was identical save for his armor plates, and you're certain he had no nitrous? Were you following his trail directly? Was it a flat road or a path with obstacles?
Try going to Oceania, and racing his tank, see the results. There's a lot of variables we don't know about this before we can give you an answer, players or CCP. |

I can shove 2 180 steel plates on my maddy and still outmanoeuvre any of my shield tanks. I think it must be bugged that or the base acceleration of a naked maddy is insain. |

my tank was a gunloggi. his was a madruger. it was a flat road with a dip. I am certain he had no nitrous. |

Well even without a speed boost for whatever reason armor tanks became faster than shield tanks in uprising .-. Fit yourself with a speed boost to keep up or train your friend to give proper communication. |

Me and my armor buddy talked about this a while back, has always driven me crazy how fast maddies are.
Now if you notice in the fitting menu the speed of the tanks.
Maddies are naturally faster, 90 something speed
Gunnlogi speed is naturally 77
A maddie uses the biggest plate, drops to 76. Just one point short of a gunlogi
In testing, my buddy armor tanker was able to out maneuver me, he beat me in:
Acceleration
Top speed
And guess what, I run a nitro speed booster in one of my high slots. Brings us more even in speed, but he still zooms way ahead of me.
If you check out what the devs have said about 1.5 Dev post it would seem that will change.
Here is a piece of the important part.
(ccpwolfman quote) Shield Low HP ceiling, fast regen, hit-and-run. More shields increases shield regen delay. Once depleted, shields take a long time to kick back in.
Armor High HP ceiling, slow regen, stand-and-deliver. More armor slows you down. Armor has no native regen.
