I am not even talking here about the obvious: hey it's way easier to aim with that thing; I am talking real unfair advantages that is independent of a player skill that is built into the game. I've noticed a few.
Rotational speeds - they are not limited to the same extent for KBM that they are even for the 100% sensitivity setting on DS3. Saw a few videos of KBM play - it blew me away how much diff in rorational speed there is. Insta-sprint strafe Melee glitch. From what I gather tough to do on a controller.
Now for disadvantages. I suppose muder taxi is easier with DS3 - but lol if this is any kind of attempt at balancing.
I have no idea how we got into that mess with an FPS that's supposed to be competitive. I guess that's that 'RPG' component of the game that excuses everything.
Any thoughts? |

KBM for console disadvantage: Being "that guy" who bought a keyboard and a mouse for a console
same as "that guy" who wears ear muff headphones and a ***** pack when walking around in public Yea, sure, it makes many things more convenient.... but it comes with a price... being "that guy" |

Not hard to plug your ps3 video feed to your monitor and play at your desk. A little more difficult to get the audio but you should be wearing headphones if you plan to use a headset. |

^ This and more.
To all you KBM users, its not your fault CCP decided to be stupid so have fun making me rage every time I have to fight you. In the meantime I'll continue to furiously tear through boxes and hunt for the keyboard to my old desktop. |

GLITCH GLITCh GLITch GLItch GLitch Glitch glitch whether it's easier to do on KBM or controller it's still a glitch and not relevant to comparing input methods. I think those videos of turn speeds are from an old build, not sure if anythings been changed since then but they are making changes in 1.4 which could be a precursor to balancing control inputs. Basically having the option of adjustable DPI mouse ... though can't you adjust sensitivity on these modded controllers ?
No they are this build as CCP just recently removed the turn speed limit on the mouse which had existed all the way up until now.
Oh and talking about advantages on the KBM then yes you have to include this right now. To not is to completely ignore the fact that people can insta kill anyone they want with it. |

They're not removing any dropsuit turn speed limits ... apart from removing the slower turn speed of the Heavy to now match lighter suits. |

I've always been and still are mainly a PC gamer, but using a mouse & keyboard in Dust sometimes makes me feel like a filthy noob because it is so much different from playing with M&KB on a PC.
I have friends - also mainly PC gamers - who were really happy about the fact that they could use a M&KB for Dust but who quit after playing for a week because they could not hit anything.
So, you should not complain too much about people using M&KB. The advantages are not that inherent and you need a lot of practice to get used to Dust's very special M&KB behaviour.
On the other hand, if 1.4 fixes mouse aiming, get ready to get your face melted. |

Funny, I just use the gaming board I have from my computer already to play dust. Just unplug and switch over. No problem. |
