So why are you telling everyone to turn it off on their router and on their PS3? (it is in the sticky in this section about port forwarding)
I only ask becuase I have seen some things lately that can only be described as severe packet loss, now I could understand it happening to one person in the squad, but why is it happening to all of us in the squad at the exact same time?
The first time happened 2 days ago, a lav tried to run me over 5 times; by this I mean the same LAV tried to run me over, missed me and then I was placed by the system back in my pre-dodge location and the LAV appeared in front of me again a second later, and then a second later the same thing, I tried to throw an AV grenade at them on the third time this happened in as many seconds only to throw the grenade on my screen and have the LAV appear in front of me again about 8-10 meters away minus 1 AV grenade and no damage done to them; then they appeared in front of me again whereby I threw both my remaining AV grenades and got an assist when someone else fired off I think a swarm.
Then August 30th 3:50 dust time I got to experience this little quirk again, only slightly different in that I was trying to run up a long staircase with a squad mate, now the funny part of this is that every time I made it to the top of the stairs I was deposited back at the bottom, minus ammo and grenades that I used in the firefights I was having. Strange was that the enemy was not rubber-banding as well and the squad mate who was fighting at the top of the stairs ended up at the base of the stairs with me before the system stabilized. |

As far as the UPnP goes, that's only in conjunction with setting your PS3 to be in the DMZ if you are having issues with port forwarding. I wouldn't change it if you are not also following the rest of the instructions to make the PS3's IP address the DMZ.
As for the issues you described, I would recommend that you file a support ticket concerning those issues. CCP Logibro // EVE Universe Community Team // Distributor of Nanites // Patron Saint of Logistics

Thank you for the reply, however I have some follow up concerns.
What would submitting a ticket do for me, as it did nothing for me when I inquired about what my shield recharge delay times should be for the my caldari logi suit after the 1.3 patch that stated that it should be 5 seconds for the delay after the patch as stated in the dev blog and patch notes; however my suit still has a 6 second delay time several weeks later and ccp closed out the help ticket saying it was waiting for a reply or response from me.... yet I was waiting for a response from ccp.
So can we please discuss what happens to a player in a squad? What role does the squad leaders connection play on those in the squad? What if they (the squad leader) are wireless without any ports open or their PS3 in a DMZ or IF that player is possibly without any knowledge of how to set up a router; maybe has some other problem like packet loss.... what does that do to my otherwise stable connection.
What if the squad is made up of some combination of the above statement?
I can play solo for hours, but then I have no mail for longer than a day, no extra chat channels but the default, 90% of my LOCAL blocked for being stupid; the problems for me then come from players sending me 4-5 squad invites while in the warbarge.
Then I am grouped up with corp mates who have mutliple chat windows open and active, and are officers in the corp with all the nonsense emails, and they have very active Locals. The sending of too many squad invites is also a problem during this scenario. |
