Infantry Lasers require ammo.
Turret Lasers should also require ammo.

If laser turrets in Dust become anything like in Eve Online, then the vehicle (mainly the one made by the Amarr) will likely have a built-in capacitor with its own limited capacity that will take forever to passively replenish. EWAR players can take advantage of this by employing energy neutralizers that drains the capacitor completely. |

perhaps they shouldn't either?
Or maybe turrets are different because they work the way Eve ones do where dropsuits operate off a battery |

I would just say you explain it as the laser using disposable power cells.
You can actually get far better yield out of a power storage unit if it's designed to discharge that energy as rapidly as possible without needing to recharge it. |

Don't lasers in EVE use capacitor?
We don't have that on Dropsuits or Vehicles, so we have ammo. (And one could pretend the ammo is actually a numerical representation of the battery charge ^_^ ))

Not like laser 'ammo' exists in that sense anyhow so yeah.
Too bad they didn't go all out and make vehicles use cap for their final implementation. 1.5 basically decides that we will never get caps now : / |
