There are some people that think Fun = Winning. That is fine, I have no counterarguments to that. To each their own right? If your having fun then do what is fun for you. Everyone deserves to do what makes them happy.

I have come to realize that I don't care about winning. Sure I can go pubstomping with great corps and players but I don't want to feel so limited or restricted. I am not saying that I won't try to win because that is the whole point of a competitive fps but I always seem to have more fun playing with friends. Even if all my friends suck, I rather joke around on the mics with them. I like to squad up with alot of different players and I have gotten to know alot of people. I like teaching new players my secrets and tricks I have learned for different maps. To me my friends are what makes this game fun.

Who has this same mentality as I do?

Lol I have to admit I have a murder taxi and tank killing is a personal hobby of mine. Most blue berries suck at tank killing but I make a living out of it. I will spend an entire match trying to destroy tanks just to make the tanker lose millions of isk. The fact that it helps my team out is just a side bonus. :p

as for forge gun sniping... i tried it... i suck.

You know rogue spades just wanna have fun. If i recall correctly you left us because we don't proto stomp. I might be wrong though.

If there were larger consequences or repercussions of losing then I feel as though all the joking, hand holding, and singing would not make it as fun anymore.

Like no SP's or ISK to the losing team.

I love all the HTFU threads yet we play a fun lobby shooter where win or lose everyone is a winner at the end of every round.

So yes DUST is a fun hang out spot with all our friends and no matter what, win or lose it won't matter we will all have fun.

K/D brings the worst out in people. Sorry just my opinion and experience.

Ohyea ....thats 100% correct started this game with a friend, one when we team up could pretty much beat any squad thrown at us in chromosone...then he found his KDR stat and it was impossible to trust him, he would start to bail without saying anything just so i could delay the enemy and would often cry for help, impulsive as i am idd drop everything to help, enemies swapped targets and he was home free.

Took me a month to shake my impulses because weve been FPS'ing since well 20 years ago and always had each others back, KDR changed him to a moaning pile of KDR this KDR that ....

They should remove that statistic

When killshot broke up my friends were split up into two different corps. Chris, bobby mechanic, and dread enforcer stayed in rogue spades but everyone else went to 187. I didn't really know anyone else and I was not good at making new friends when I missed the old ones. Yes I was annoyed that sometimes people weren't even trying. Squad leaders not using fraggos and ignoring orbitals. If you have it, use it. It helps the team and is a big waste. If a person doesn't like the role of squad leader they shouldn't squad lead but that was only a minor annoyance. The majority of my friends had gone to another corp and eventually i decided to go join them.

as for the proto stomp.... for the past month I have been messing around with some standard scout suits that cost between 7k -16k isk and still maintaining a 2.0 kdr. Standard stomping is alot more fulfilling than proto stomping. I love destroying proto gear but I love destroying aurum and officer gear even more. Even if I am outmatched and die 15 times and get 10 kills, I will know that I had fun destroying a tank or officer gear. I will make sure they dont profit.

If I really cared that much about stomping then I would not have joined 187.. A smaller corp, underdogs, and no alliance to back them. They did get an alliance later on but I had alot of other choices.

But I left 187 a month ago due to some drama with the leadership. Thats a whole other story completely.

Those statistics are helpful in an another way...

KD/R and WP tells you what type of player a guy is.

I wish they had a kd/r statistic for every weapon individually...

having a 5.0 kdr and your a sniper... if no one knew you were a sniper they might be fooled into thinking your a pro ar user... A game as complex needs complex statistics. Every weapon has its pro's and con's and affects people differently.
