I know some of you do not care about these events and some of us do. My question is how is this event even fair? You have no choice over what side you are. So you get thrown into the mix and well you lose, you lose a lot. Not your fault or anyone else, its just a mismatched system. So your logic is squad up and STFU, well that is all good for me, but what about the new guys. They squad up and they still lose, over and over again. What I am getting to is how can we have an event were you are based on wins or loses when matchmaking comes at the end of the event You can try and win every match, but not likely by yourself. Now granted you only have to win 48% week 1, week 2 is 45%, and week 3 is 42% of you matches out of 30 matches first week, 40 the next, and 50 the last week. So my question to you dust bunnies is do you feel this event should have been after match making or fine as it is? |

Personally I think CCP should have tied something in lore wise EVE current events wise for this instead of doing another challenged based event, something more reminiscent of Caldari Prime without the crashing Titan.
Perhaps shelving FW contracts for a week in favour of Kamieras vs Bloody Hand of Matar or Blood Raiders contracts with the end of the event and rewards based upon who players supported which faction and the end result determined by who won.
Despite it sounding simple like Caldari Prime I think it would get people to care about who wins either because they want a faction to win or they just want the coolest loot. |

I think that CCP is making a reasonable attempt to ensure that AFK'ing is minimized during the event. By requiring 100 wp for each match to count, and ensuring that you need to pass a certain ratio of wins for each of the tiered levels of rewards it provides some incentive for mercs to hit the ground and participate.
It's still difficult to meet the criteria, but I think the real question is: is it better than what it would have been if they didn't require 100wp and a win ratio to achieve the rewards?
I think it is....at least every match isn't totally full of AFKers. People are actually fighting. |

I have no problem with this event.
The rewards are a little low, but they're all Aurum gear so I'm sure I'll be able to fob them off once player trading happens. |

You seem to have this down wrong, its over 2 weeks not 3 to qualify for all tiers you have to - win 48% of your first 30 matches - for tier 1 win 45% of your first 40 matches - for tier 2 win 42% of your first 50 matches - for tier 3 same with week 2
And the squad up logic is as basic as can be, I won 92% of my first 50 matches - if you dont want that to happen then your squad has to stop me Simples
this game always has, and always will reward you for teamwork and punish you for playing solo if youre new you dont even know about the challenge - but you can still join a corp and squad up really if you dont have the time and effort to put into the game why should you be given anything? |

The gear doesn't interest me in the slightest. What is annoying is the complete proto stomp by those who do seem to. Seen some really dirty tricks lately -_- |

You are correct on the 2 weeks. Second its not about giving items away, its the logic behind poor match making was my point. I believe it should have been scheduled after the 1.4 update.

I'm brand new but I made the cut. (19 wins 15 losses)
Unless you run with a really good squad, I think its easier to go solo. A lot of matches are stacked with good squads on one side, and your chances to be randomly grouped with the good team are better if you're a single que.
If one side is always stacked in every game, then your chances of a win are 50/50, and you only need 45%.
I was just glad to see less afk. Good times.

i think this event suks, for the past 2 nites when ive played ambush there has only been 2 teams worth of players online for several matches and it almost always was the same group every match its like the matchmaker didnt even try to shuffle the players up at all and just about every match was a stomp, luckly i was on the winning side tonight but yesterday was a loss every battle damn near. i think they shoulda held off on an event likt this till there was a better matchmaking system in place.
And the gear they are giving out is crap, i dont want or need that stuff. |

The whole event is poorly thought out. Requiring a certain win percentage means it will mainly be achieved by the long time players who squad up, meanwhile the rewards are standard grade stuff that new guys would be interested in. |

No event is going to be perfect, so I try to examine the reasoning behind it before judging.
Yes, the rewards are so-so, but imagine the QQ if they were stellar you missed out by one win? You would likely come away with a negative impression of the whole event rather than thinking, "Well at least I had some good fights for a change!".
I see this as a CCP carrot to get out and put in some extra effort to win. I've complained many times that DUST lacks any incentive for a win and noted that this affects game play dramatically. Now we have a non-destructive way to find out what happens when you reward a win. Non-descructive in that you aren't penalizing the losing team, merely giving the winners some bonus.
I personally don't need the rewards, but I found myself getting into the spirit of going for the win rather than laying back and watching my wallet. That mental state made each game a more intense experience. I also didn't notice any AFK non-activity in any of my matches.
I went for the full 50 match tier 3 rewards and found that though I had enough wins before my 30th match I was going to have to run quite a few Ambush matches to get the total high enough. I found the 100 WP requirement added a sense of urgency to Ambush given the very short duration of some matches.
Overall I enjoyed the first week of the event. |

The rewards will be nice and I always want to win matches but I haven't been keeping count I just couldn't be bothered I thought it would be more fun to just play how I normally play and see what I get, I remember the last one where I kept count it was fun in a sense but ticking off installation destruction's made it seem like more of a grind than just blowing them up for the hell of it. So this time if I get rewards great if I dont im not too fussed. |

I just wish they'd put a tally someplace so I can see how I'm doing.
Could it be added to the crew quarters menus someplace?
Even an in-game mail every 24 hours would be helpful.
This pencil-and-paper thing is a bit of a drag. I'm busy when I'm in combat.
