With CCP Wolfman starting from scratch with Vehicles, I'd like to see him look at balancing Standard AV and Standard Vehicles,it needs to be done and I'll keep bumping this and arguing this, I'm not saying remove anything above Standard forever, but what we need to do is balance Standard vs Standard.
Once we see if it's completely balanced, then we look at adding Advanced and Prototype, along with many variants added too it to make it more complex (Which face it, the game lacks heavily in, inb4morons think the game is complex and hard)

Latest Dev replied basically states that the Prototype modules will be a matching expectancy counterpart against incoming prototype levels of damage.

Thank you for posting that, it actually brightened up my mood a little. Although I have to say I do approve of the ammo for vehicles move, I think it will help and justify any real buff to survivability to vehicles, other than LLAV's of course. |

Did you miss the "Balance Standard v Standard" bit out?
Standard v Standard seems quite weak, I'mma be honest, but Proto Swarms stomp standard tanks, so we balance standard v standard and proceed :)

Ideally you balance at the end game and you curve it down properly to whatever level you start at so you get a curve that looks like this.

Standard AV is fine IMO.
Takes a few guys to kill you if you don't plop your ass in the middle of a combat zone, use your active mods when you take damage, and do hit and run attack styles.
Prioritize targets. Heavies first, then SLers, PC users, then generic infantry.
tl;dr, play like a guerrilla fighter, it doesn't matter if you break the siege of an obby, even though you probably will, its that you can go away and rep up, then come back to give em hell again.
EDIT- However, since another balancing pass is being done, go ahead and switch it up a bit. |

Well it would seem then it would be a vicious circle. If you balance std AV up so it could take out std HAV, then the situation of proto HAV vs proto AV would remain the same.
If they should keep anything the same it should be current AV, at least then they can see what the damage is after 1.5 vehicle changes, perhaps proto HAV is being held of because CCP think current HAV is already at that top tier lvl, or maybe they just dont have a clue wtf has happened with the situation -_- |
