Can you give us an idea on how you intend to balance vehicles on this update? What kind of impact do you want them to have upon reaching the battlefield? Could we expect changes in overall speed/maneuverability? Could the turrets (both Large and Small) be subject to tweaks?

Pilot Suit for 1.5 would be convenient. But it seems that vehicle drivers need a **** ton of SP. I mean they need the SP for the whole vehicle tree AND have to skill into a dropsuit when Pilot dropsuits are released. |

Well technically we didn't yet. We heard that they'll look into giving us a hint before the blog. Hearing something would be a definitive yes/no or date that we might have some idea what they're cooking up

Last time I checked there was a problem with the early prototyping of goals which delayed the post that was supposed to be out for some time. CCP Team Kong is working on it as much as they can to resolve it and get information out to you folks as soon as possible. |

I suppose we must face the fact that the golden age of the missile turrets will never come again, but if the Dark Ages of Blam are brought to a close by Wolfman, then I vote that he gets a tank hull named after him. |

A high level blog about how CCP views vehicle roles and their missions would go a very long way without having to get into the balance details that can change before the patch is released.
We desperately need a context in which to judge the balance effort.
Are all vehicles direct infantry slayers at heart, or do they have other missions? If the first they are going to be more fragile, and if the later they can be much more survivable without being OP. The LLAV is a perfect example. As a slayer it is OP, but as a repair vehicle it needs that survivability.
I have the impression that CCP never had a coherent vision based on past behavior.
Then there is the matter of rewarding the non slaying missions and making them practical (remote reupping from a dropship anyone?)

They gave us a post something like this internally, it didnt go into the nitty gritty of each vehicle, just highlighted their intended direction of vehicles in general and their views on modules & armor vs shield. It made no promises or specific actions.
Overall, it is exactly the kind of post We've been beating CCP over the head woth for 2 years to post. I and the other CPM dudes have urged them to share it asap but.....v0v |

Most of us stay tanking not because we like to trash infantry; that's just practice and stress (it's horrifying seeing a doZen swarms coming at you from two-three random, previously disorganised reds) but because we like fighting other vehicles. I get a sense of satisfaction far greater than that of killing infantry even when melting a Sica.
But chasing tanks all match isn't really a possibility (I somehow managed to solo all day yesterday where the only other pilot I saw was a dropshipper) so killing infantry makes my very specialised SP rather more useful. |

When I man a Rail Gun Turret (Installation or Tank) DS cloak all the time. They routinely disappear as they fly circles above a section of the map. Where they go I have no idea ... because they are Freaking Invisible.
Works like a cloak while not taking any CPU/PG.

I agree. I am bouncing off my seat giddy with glee every single time I take down a tank with my dropship. Which is rare but still, so much sweeter than mowing down infantry. |

I think they should make vehicles breakable like in the lego games where you can melee them into pieces and then rebuild them how you please, but only ride around on top of them, also like in lego... and maybe get different coloured isk fly out of them when they explode... that's it, I want a lego mod for dust514 in 1.5 or i'm not playing ever again until I play again! |

First, the wild interpretations of said masses.
Second, and the most important, being called on violating the stated direction.
CCP/Shanghai has no intention of getting boxed in to something that was said. They might have to deliver it.

add horn for LAV , add "look back" button for L2/R2 driving setting for LAV , make LAV turret usable in 3rd person view and have inside view only when zoom in

Dust is still missing 2 LAVs, 2Tanks, and 2 dropships. How can they justify a balance pass? Everything will just need a complete overhaul from the ground up in a couple months... |

Not to mention MAV, Light Air Attack Vehicle, Heavy Air Attack Vehicle, MTACs and E war.
It really does need fixed now through. It could be done with long term in mind, with the proper forethought. and an expedited release for those features. |
