I run a small corp with some friends and we've been holding steady at not enough people for a long time. I've put up one of these posts before trying to get some help and got some great ideas but alot of em just don't work for me. I can't really do a recruitment video, at least not in a way that I would find interesting, not really interested in spamming the local chat, seems like where we're getting most of the people are from the recruitment thread but we're losing as many as we gain. Always looking for fresh ideas but what I'm expecting to get out of this is to basically take what does work and make it better, better marketing essentially. Any ideas will be much appreciated.
Also don't bother trying to get us to leave our corp and join yours, that's not what this is about. And if you're offering an alliance thanks but no thanks I've already got plenty to choose from and again I don't really see how that would help with the issue at hand. If any of that is going to happen I already know what group I'm headed to. |

Recently I've been starting a squad and filling it with people from NPC corps either by inviting them from local or picking them up in a match. Then when one of them says they've got to go and if I liked playing with them I'll let them know they're welcome to join the corp if they're interested. Managed to go from 4 to 18 members in a week; most don't play as often as some of the others and myself but my corp is casual oriented so that's to be expected. If you don't mind picking up newer players for the most part this seems to be a good way to recruit. |

That's basically what I'm running on, I don't care at all what kind of stats these guys have, they'll get better and I just want more people to play with. That is a great idea though, so what just go into a match and invite everyone who isn't in a squad? |

Pretty much, though I focus on those with voice chat enabled first. |

I don't mean this in a negative way but part or your problem might be how good you are. I noticed players will apply to my corp more often when they play with me when I have a good game. If you can get a squad of your corp at the top of the killboard at the end of the game it looks good. I know from experience that it helps because I couldn't recruit anyone when I sucked. So maybe concentrate on building teamwork with the guys you have so you look more appealing to other players. |

Well hate to be cocky but I'm on the top of the leaderboards for our team in 95% of my matches lol, we could have several people up there but alot of my friends who joined up can't play as much, just incredibly busy, one is in school way passed full time, one is working nonstop, and another is going into the army. Only one of em plays as much or more than me and she just started being more active so not too long ago she was still kinda new.
I've had people join me just based on sheer awesomeness but this is why we need more people, I can never play with enough of our own guys. |

Advice from someone with recruiting experience.
Do a lot of forum recruiting and make a chat for people who don't want to join to find out. Make sure you specify who you want. You don't want casuals if you're hardcore and vice versa. If you're casual, be lenient on players but if you're hardcore, kick inactive players and message them why you're kicking them. You could always give them a weeks notice, which is best, but it gets annoying when only 10% or less responds. Continuously run with your people and set up play times. Also if you don't have a site, use enjin but be careful of its security holes.
DON'T recruit in pubs vigorously. Ease it on them. Same with local chats. Get your members to become highly noticeable in a match so that you draw players in passively. |

All great ideas, for the most part being worked on currently, I really don't care how good a person is or how often they play, unless I hit the maximum amount of people in the corp and I have to boot someone, or unless they're being a jackass, I won't be kicking people. But otherwise I have a pub channel and a forum thread |

I find that getting people to join your corp is best when you impress the pub matches. As said before, focus on team work and squad orders to get more points. It doesn't matter how many kills you get, it matters how many points you get. If you pick up a random that you like then offer them a spot in your corp. Bring it up when you can. Also, don't neglect advertising in local chat. It's my seem to be an annoyance for some. But experienced players learn to ignore them and newer players find them resourceful when looking for a corp. It's commercial use anyways so in my opinion it should be used. I hate when people complain about it but rarely anyone does anymore. Going on the forums and looking for people that are looking for a new corp is the best way to get someone specific and more often then not, they will join your corp.
Other then that, sell your corp. By that I mean, make people want to be apart of it. Don't promise what you don't have, only what you can provide. Emphasis your rules & regs up front and make your forum recruitment look presentable. Explain your system and seem professional. |

Only like 5 of my 78 members joined from either forums or recruitment mail. They all joined from squading up with me or by seeing how well a squad of our corporation does. |

When I get the chance, I'm on east coast time but nothing is scheduled, some days I got **** to do some days I don't. Why?
Anyway I got the idea, basically seems like "try harder" lol, which is fine I've been pretty passive about it because no time for it. Wondering what other methods would work...like maybe organize a bake sale to support space mercs or having an infomercial, do those still exist? |

The reason I ask is I have an alt or two that I could help you build with. (I currently have them with my main corp) . So you don't have a general time?

If ya want, but what's the plan other than just join so that we can appear to have a bunch of members? Because I dont know if that will do much. And yeah I pretty much just get on when I have time.
I can do pub chats, I have a few I can get rid of because no-one is in them at all |

Well my other corp doesn't always have people on when I'm playing so I would play then. Running squads in game and picking up randomis a good way to grow corp. |

Omega Elite is the pub chat name. Or Arcadiedge Shadow Legion but don't recruit in there please. It's a good place to squad up and find friends. |
