currently you kill, uplink,nanohive and repair your way up to the wp requirements to get an orbital which is fine. except allot of these wp are gained through people riding in vehicles not killing or assisting, support items such as nano hives and drop uplinks and by medics.
what i was thinking was a change to the mechanic to allow for 2 separate wp/orbitals which do things depending of the way they are gained.
so we have kill/assist wp: these would count towards orbital bombardments as they do currently. no chance to these except a 500 point reduction
next we have support module/ability wp: these would count towards calling in support orbital drops such as a re-supply stations or clone packs (5-10 to add to the pool). these would be set to 2000wp
what this does is prevents artificial wp gain's through support items to gain an offensive orbital as is the case currently with people giving each other nano hives or spawning on each others drop uplinks |

At the moment they're working on making it so that Eve players have to earn the orbitals. At least that's the plan. |

+1 I like the this, an offensive and defensive bonus to squad WP , it would take work though and would it help gameplay?? could mean an increase in nanite/uplink/logi spamming to earn defensive WP , or even more ruthless proto assault to harvest our souls for offensive WP, but i just had a thought on this...
Defensive ''perk'' earned after 3000 or maybe even more WP seen as there is more ways to gain Defensive WP
Offensive ''perk'' our beloved orbital strikes maybe your idea of 2000 WP could work
and...
maybe a Capture/Hacking ''perk'' earned after maybe 2500 WP and adding an effect maybe to disable enemy intel
eg. scanning and which objectives are under attack
also last but not least , Eve Orbitals should be very difficult to obtain and deal catastrophic damage to the enemy |
