It cuts a little off your reload time. If you're using an AR, when he puts the new magazine in the rifle, then goes to smack the magazine in to place, sprint to cancel out the end of the animation. Its pretty much the same with every other weapon, when you put the magazine in, wait a second, then sprint. I'm not sure what it is for the HMG though. I think it was put there to cancel out those moments where you reload, immediately sprint after the animation, only to notice that your gun didn't reload properly.
