So you're in a match and you're holding down a position, doing quite well right? Yes every thing is going just as planned, they don't stand a chance. Then someone climbs a tower with a team of snipers and a forge gunned and hell breaks lose. Utterly nothing you can do to get to them, kill them by sniping but they'll just take turns peaking over and shooting. Try to fly a dropship? Im sure the forge gunner wont mind.
Anyway, so my solution for the long range cowards, a bubble shield emitted by a piece of equipment either held or deployed by the player.
It could be a gun like thing that the player has to hold and fire to deploy the shield that stays in a wide area around the player(s) inside the bubble. The bubble would block all projectiles, coming in and perhaps out to keep things balanced. The player that has the shield has to keep the button held down that way he cant shoot and produce a shield.
The standard version could be a small circumference, gradually getting larger as you go up a tier. MAybe start at around 4m and the proto could be 8m? not sure how that would relate in game at the moment lol. It should allow players both friend and foe to freely walk in and out of the field. that way you're a vulnerable little **** if an enemy gets close enough.
There could be AUR Variants that can be deployed as opposed to being held by the player if CCP wants to make money lol.
Vehicles could also be adapted with these I suppose, but perhaps with one that has a timer that way they can't just sit there the whole time in safety repairing to 100% in the middle of the battlefield.
Just an idea Bubble Barrier for safety from snipers, when counter sniping isn't an option and forge gunning is just too common now. |

It's on schedule. It was going to be deployed for Uprising 1.0. It was called shield generator and was going to work the way you've described it. But it went AWOL...

What if you made it deployable, had a homonginsed area of about 5m radius, instead the differnce between tiers is the chance to stop projectiles, 60, 70, 80 % respectively.
It is destroyed after absorbing a set amount of damage all improved across tiers, can be shot out with no form of penalty.
Just an idea to make it more balanced. |

I'm not one to complain about stuff that happens in the game I just find a way around it, but as of right now the only way to get someone off a high roof is get a higher roof or get an orbital, gotta be SOMETHING to counter it. Omg if I had this on my logi I could be the greatest medic ever lol, even if it was like any other dropped piece of equipment. would also be interesting to see a bunch of people corralled into a bubble...then have someone get crafty with remote explosives or a shotgun....lol |

I like this, just imagine half your squad is pinned down in a corner and about to be absolutely wrecked by enemy infantry....and then.....the bubble pops up and protects them long enough for the rest of the squad to come rolling in on tanks and demolish whatever vehicles/troops the reds throw at you!!!!! I love this!!!!!
Perhaps it should be timer based or have its own health bar so it's no OP, perhaps it can soak up to 1500 hp damage at basic and as you move to proto it gets more hp.....numbers just placeholders/examples
