Again, the issue we have right now will NOT be solved by introducing vehicles that are "on par" with current AV, as that will just make the power creep worthless, which will just result in more angry people. As EVE has shown, meta levels for weapons and modules are essential to the fitting mechanics, but having meta levels for ships just meant that anything below a Merlin or Punisher was practically worthless. This is the same problem we have now. Meta levels for all weapons - including AV - are fine, but they still need to be balanced against the idea that this isn't a game where you're always going to be going one-on-one with a tank as an AV player. I mean, we have threads by AV players complaining about a vehicle managing to get away from their Ishukone Assault Forge Gun, not realizing that that vehicle only barely escaped alive, and that if there was even one more guy with Swarms or a Forge of his own, that vehicle would have just been blapped. However, the issue is also this irrational perception held by a disturbing majority of HAV operators, for instance, that the HAV was designed to be a one-man-killing-machine. I actually had a discussion in IRC just two days ago with a tank driver that told me that tanks were designed from the beginning to be solo vehicles, and having anyone use his secondary turrets was a waste. He should be a match for 3 or more infantry even with the best AV weapons while operating his vehicle by himself. Basically, people on both sides of this are wrong. AV players complain about feeling useless if they can't gun down a vehicle on their own in a game where you can have entire squads of players switch to AV, and vehicle players want their vehicles to be one-man killstreak farming machines that can devastate infantry and shrug off AV like it's nothing.
