So, how you fellas liking the update? *checks forums* ...well, now that all that fire has burned off my eyebrows, how about we look at the positives, shall we?
-No more shared passive scanners. Scouts can sneak now, after all when was the last time you saw someone with an active scanner?
-Swarm Launcher refire. It has a smaller clip now, so more Alpha, less DOT.
-Heavy Turn Rate. Go play any other FPS. Everyone has the same turn rate. If it worked for them it'll work for us, and Heavies NEED the turn to be effective CQC.
-Murdertaxi patch. This is the sole reason why most of you should be happy.
-Scrambler Rifle skill change. The charge may take longer, but it won't almost completely wipe your heatsink :D
-AFK fix. Sure some crafty buttmunch will find a way around it, there are always people who want to screw with the system more than play with it, but this will keep a good number of AFKers away from your games. No more 18 on 6-with-12-living-corpses.
-HMG skill change. Now HMGs will have to make every bullet count, and it will be easier to make them count with the higher accuracy rating.
Anyone got any more? Try to be positive :D |

Incorrect. It has over double the alpha and can expend all it's ammo with the capacity skill maxed 52% faster. It's burst damage got an absurd increase and it's DoT a significant boost.
God knows how it got approved. It's obvious just looking at it how absurd it's going to be.

I agree that over all the patch notes look great, very excited. The only beef I have with them is the swarm launcher changes, which could very well turn out to be devastating for tankers and dropship pilots. I'm hoping that we are over reacting to them, but I'm afraid we may not be.
But you are correct, over all the patch notes look awesome with some much needed changes and additions. I hope 1.5 will turn out to be the proper balance for AV/Vehicles that we all need. And I hope 1.4 is even better than the patch notes. |

The attraction of doing it now is CCP can compare 1 month of new swarm data against basically the whole Uprising datatset, and hopefuly that will allow them to calibrate swarms correctly for the rebalanced vehicles in 1.5
And the patch notes look great imo. 1.5 looks even more promising. If 1.6 and 1.7 can follow suit we're gonna have a real game on our hands. A real kick-ass game ;) |

A real kick-ass game ;) Gonna be some real useful data, 'Swarms completely murder vehicles, sharp decline in HAVs being fielded. Perhaps from this we can surmise that maybe we shouldn't increase the refiring rate almost threefold on a weapon that was already performing well?'.
If I wanted to assess some data on the relationship between Forge Guns and vehicles I wouldn't begin by tripling the burst damage and increasing DPS by 50% to see what happens. |

only thing im not looking forward to is the rotation speed fix, even as someone who is skilling into heavys. heavy weapons, even anti infantry ones should be longer range and have more power than light weapons, not this cqc nonsense we have now |
