The thunder echoes as the lighting attacks the skies; we claw our way from the rubble of a destroyed complex. We moved away from the bodies that failed to decompose the but the smell was foul all the same. Eon's dropships beamed their screech lights hoping to find survivors. They were like hawks looking for a target to fest upon. One of the ships spotted movement about 400 meters to our west and we froze instantly.
I slowly turn my head to see what the dropship was focusing on but with the rain it became nearly impossible to see. Moments later a swarm blasted from a window of a destroyed building striking the dropship and its shield went down. Then a forge followed downing the enemy ship in one blast.
"Popper, you squat him!" a soldier form the surround debris yelled.
There was a moment of silence from the soldier, soon the ground trembled and we can hear the gears and treads of a tank. Or squad leader looked as us and shook his head, many of us bit our lips knowing the fate that will bestow our brothers. At the corner of the street men the tank rolled in with it rail cannon and was accompanied with two full squads of infantry. A dropship then beams a light at the window where the shot was taken.
Then a forge slams into the ship causing it to move. The tank and one squad suppress the whole floor, while the second squad moves in to the building. We can hear the fierce fighting but we just stood still and let their cries for help over the radio fall under deaf ears. It took awhile but the tank and men leave and we take turns moving across the street.
"Damn they waxed Charlie squad!" , Brent panicked.
"I know!" Rena our squad leader said
"We gotta get outta here!" Hemphill said
"I KNOW!" she yelled while looking at her holographic map. She then closes it and looks west where Charlie squad was killed, then said, "EoN's air power is wiping out our air evac. According to the MCC in this sector its still sending evacuation helo's out but I don't know for who long!"
I look at my radio then I send a message to the MCC. "MCC Gavana, this is Echo squad of the 23rd Shock Battalion we are confirming you are still providing evac's, over!"
"This is MCC Gavana we are still providing evacs but we are under half shields and the front line is 5 klicks south of your location. Is it possible to back track to the line, over!"
"Negative! I repeat negative! We do not have the ammo or the man power to reach the line! Please confirm that EZ X-Ray is still open, over!"
"Standby!" he said, then Rena gave us the hand signal to move. We continue down the city street as the rain helped clean our muddy suits. Every building was touched by the cruel hands of war. Even dead tanks still burn on the streets. We then came to a supply depot and rearmed our famished weapons. And keep moving again.
"EoN sure made a mess of this place!" I said scanning the buildings for movement.
"They wanted a speed capture of the city, which is a better way than to carpet bomb the damn place." Rena said.
"So Sarge why did you join the FEC?" Abalone asked me.
"It's simple, really nothing too complicated, I just wanted a good fight." I told them
"Never thought you'll be one a losing side like this!" ,Hemphill told the group while almost tripping on the rock
"We kept EoN occupied for a few hours, that is better than nothing. The FEC was never organized enough to fight EoN this was a losing war from the start." Rena told the us as she told her helmet off. "We should have known better!"
"We are fighting for a good cause. We are liberating Molden Health from the EoN oppressors!" Brent told in his scared and shaken voice.
The rest of the group laughed and Rena told him, "You just haven't died enough!"
We are laughing then there is a loud explosion nearby but wasn't close enough for us to take cover and I see Abalone falling to the ground. I scream, "SINPER!" and we broke for cover on the wall of debris. The sniper hit him while he was in the middle of an interception splitting the squad in two.
"Did anybody see him!" Rena screamed from the other side. "No sorry, sir! We slipped up!" I told her, then I look at Abalone bleeding a squirming.
"The bastard got me! It hurts! Goddamnit it hurts!" He screams.
"Ok, my side will fire north and you guys south. Arch you and the noob will get Abalone and pull him to cover, on three!" Rena ordered and everyone prepared themselves. "THREE!" Everyone did as instructed, Brent and I charged in. I stood straight up and suppressed north, Brent pulls out his needle, I turn back and scream, "Hurry up!" then a round hits his spine and kills Brent instantly. I turn around firing my rifle and shout, "He's to our south!"
Everyone turns and fires south and I run to cover, by this time Abalone wasn't moving much but he was still alive. Hemphill pulls out a scanner and lifts his head up and a round went through it. Rena marked the proto sniper and us to push up. I was the last to go, I went to Abalone and he was dead. After that I followed the group to the sniper. I took cover and looked up and saw that Rena and I are the only one's left. She gives me hand signals tell me to move up and she'll cover. So she fires and with my heavy rifle sprinted forward, then I hear a shot moments before I made it into the building. I look back and saw that Rena's been killed. I shook it off and pushed forward.
I made it to the floor where the sniper was marked and I ready myself. I knew that if I charged out I would have been shot. So I look to the ground and saw big rock and picked it up. I throw it and instantly run behind it. The shooter shot the rock and moved back to cover while I fired at the sniper charging. He throws a flux and my shield went down, that's when he broke from cover and leveled his sniper at me. I slant left then slide at almost the same time he fired missing me barely. He then draws his pistol (and I'm outta space sry) |

Its a good story mate well written, I liked your Northern war chronicles more though... perhaps the whole EoN FEC thing is just some sort of unspoken Taboo when it comes to Dust Fanfiction.
Either way it was good throw down some more. |

Alot of times people would rather just wait for someone else to say something i guess. But no worries i thought it was descriptive enough. I try to read my entries a couple times before i post it up, but even afterwards i can still fix stuff if i find anything wrong.

If you run out of space, you could just split it between posts as necessary. It's better than an incomplete story. I want to know how it ends, or does his pistol end you? |
