Looking for a replacement for the DS3 thats shock resistant. I have a custom controller made but I find I cant use it with dust because Dust throws me into a rage from the ****** gameplay. This controller needs to be able to be thrown against walls, floors and cannot be ripped in half. Iv lost 3 DS3s to Dust, two from smashing them, one from ripping it in half. Any sudjestions? |

Although I'm not on the PS3 anymore, I use an Afterglow wired PS3 controller for my PC gaming, as it is PC-compatible without need for special software. Although I've never done any rage-throwing, it has survived multiple RDV-style derp-drops onto a tile floor with no damage whatsoever. I suspect it could survive a few throws against the wall. It's 19.99 at Wal-Mart (the wireless costs more), so even a breakage won't be too painful.
It has a good length on its cord, so it's not too big an issue unless you play DUST in a movie theater. Its configuration is similar to the Xbox controller - its left stick and D-pad are flipped, and both sticks and the triggers are concave. No turbo/macro functionality - its only major mod is that the LEDs can be set to either always-on, always-off, or a setting that flashes them when the controller vibrates.
In short, the Afterglow would be my suggestion - it's quite durable, inexpensive, and its configuration is a best-of-both mix of Xbox and PS3. |
