Screw it, I'm not waiting on the Amarr Scout anymore and I'm just going balls to the wall with the Gallente Scout.
Just need some advice on fits that "work."
I have profile dampening at 3, and precision enhancement at 3 and range amplification at 3....all core skills are at 3/4 and I have the Gallente Scout frame (not light frame) at 2.

Try Kincat + armor reppers
Bump those armor skills to 5 if you haven't. My Gallente Scout has an innate 87 shields and 162 armor.
I find High Slots really worthless on them. There are almost no good modules for a gal scout that are High: You can try Myrofibil, I find myself doing a lot of meleeing but with only 80 damage it's like You can use Precision enhancers but wait until 1.4 for them. Apparently profile does not mean anything when someone waved the magic crosshairs over you for a brief second. |

I've got Armor and Armor reppers at four atm...I've been using the ferroscale plates and an enhanced shield extender in the high for a 189 shield (I believe) and around 249 armor. I use a compact nanohive to heal in a pinch. |

Decide a weapon, you'll most likely try shotgun + SMG combo. But whatever you choose, you'll have to armor tank and it'll be difficult because you'll need a CPU upgrade. If you like Amarr weapons you could try the assault Scrambler Rifle with an SMG. Some people like dual SMG's...well I think that if you have the benefit of being able to use a light weapon why not use one?
So seeing you want Amarr scout, how about some hybrid tanking? Like the heavy and assault suits. For that you'll need the ADV suit, which has 2 highs, while proto has only 1. Equip shield extenders and 2 armor plates, maybe you'll want the complex reactive plate for armor repair. The other could be ferro or basic. The other low slot should be for the CPU upgrade, or another plate if you can afford the CPU.
Don't waste your time on dampeners/enhancers. The skills alone should give you enough dB to stay hidden from and detect all suits. Speed tanking idk...I'd rather have HP. For equipment I recommend the active scanner since the scout suit has same scan radius as all suits. So the scanner should give an advantage for example if a guy is alone it'll be easier to kill and survive in 1vs1.
That's what I recommend and should prepare you when Amarr scout suits arrive. They will most like be slower than the other scouts but they'll have the highest total HP.

My personal Advanced Gallente Scout Fit: 2 M-512 SMGs 2 Enhanced Shield Extenders 1 enhanced Cardiac Regulator 1 Enhanced Armor Rep 1 Militia Grenade BPO 1 Militia Rep Tool BPO
It works pretty well for squad based actions, especially with the speed allowing it to run ahead and/or flank people. The Rep tool is used to rep squad-mates and such. I find that scouts make better reptoolers than logis, as they can dance around in the middle of a fire-fight repping.
Also, be sure to get the Biotics core skill maxed. |

I run the adv gal light frame with SMG/Pistol. I don't bother with armor or shields because basically if someone's firing at me, I've already lost. It's all about getting around people without being detected and getting some quick hard shots in before they can react. I stick on 2 complex damage mods, a complex armor repper and a CPU upgrade. With this set up I can carry fluxes and both weapons at advanced and even fit on a needle to help revive any nearby fallers.
That said I do have electronics to level 5 and engineering to level 4 - I've got more PG than I'll ever need though and CPU is pretty irrelevant with the CPU upgrade but the skills do help a lot and can cheapen the fittings costs a fair bit too. All in all this suit costs around 43k isk I believe and is pretty deadly when used with the stealthy hit and run, avoiding the main battlefield areas tactics. |

I'll give you advice about Gallente Suits in general.
Don't, stay away.
CCP made DUST a place where shields rule the day.
I love my Gallente Assault but I'd swap it for a caldari or a minmatar suit in a second because all the explosive spam in DUST atm.
I remember when Mass drivers first came out, it was nice. Now it's perverted. |

Std and adv use a cardio mod and repper with a basic/enhanced/complex shield extenders. Works well with a active scanner and a shotgun.
Proto suits can really change it up depending what your looking for. |

Welcome to HARD MODE. Now what kind of scout you going for? By the sounds of it, it seems like your going to play the scout role. AWESOME.
Scout roles.
1) assassin
2) RECON
3) Objective taker and holder
Since you have range and precision, I would say RECON would compliment your scout role. Without having to worry too much of having to sink sp into any other parts.
Ok. So you'll want to have speed. kin cats. And up links to send your guys to the fight and flank faster. Your not really holding objectives.. so RE you don't really need. up to you.
Smg is a recon's best friend. But a shotty are anything close to OHK comes close to being a scout mistress. You want to be able end fights as soon as it starts. Time is not on the side of those with low HP.
Pump up the CPU and PG. I have my CPU at max. reason I'm saying is that it really does give your scout more options. seems like you went armor, so don't go for shields. again your a recon. you move in drop uplinks, cap objectives, kill the snipers, and give away enemy location.
Welcome to the club. And here's your complimentary gift card to hooters. |

Do you want long distance or CQC? Most Gallente Scouts I see fall into one of these two categories. Either they triple stack Kincats and go Shotty/SMG or they hang back as a mobile sniper. |

TAC AR/SMG Combo is pretty good on maps with a lot of cover or where you can get a height advantage. This was a fit I would run for fun back when we still had the range hard cap, even after the TAC AR nerf and was devastating when playing the range game. I haven't tried it in a while and I'm actually afraid to since the standard AR has gone back to being a full-auto sniper rifle. |

The SCR has minimal recoil and I mean minimal. It's so much easier to use and basically out-damages the TAR too. SCR has much much bigger clip too. Watch the heat though. |

Tried TAR, didn't like it after nerf. It's just so hard to aim. Range is good and it feels awesome for a scout as it's a suit that can survive better at range. But sometimes you'll feel you want to have a tankier suit for surviving crossfire. So you could try it and use the SMG for CQC.

Scout Suit Scan Radius? Same as yours. Check the stats. Its craziness.
A Pro GalScout stacking Amplifiers can hit 50m. But he'll be squishy, slow and short on stamina.
Hence the Active Scanner has an in-game role. We'll see more of them in use come 1.4. |

Aisha Ctarl wrote:I'm doing really well running the GEK so far, any good AR Scout tips? One of our best Minjas, Radar, runs a GEK with Proto Knives. He's a beast in Pubs though I believe he runs a his medium-frame in PC. I'm not sure if high-end knives work well on a GalScout. I'm sure someone else can weigh in on this.
Other AR Scout Vets have recommended running plates. You can maintain a high strafe speed using Ferroscale.
Also, I'd recommend skilling into Biotics. You'll likely find Greens more useful than Reds for getting into optimal range, but both pills are worthy of experimentation.
Gear-wise, nades are your friend. A sneaky scout will often get the drop on his adversary. A well-timed nade will level the playing field against a proto medium and will generally disperse of cluster of red dots, but try save your last to protect your retreat. I run hives (aggressive) or scanners (cautious) depending upon the opponent and setting. I like the idea of running a repper ... hadn't considered it until reading this thread.
Lastly, use your former frame in PC. In my personal opinion and experience, we Scouts have little place in PC at the moment. This could change in future builds; time will tell. Others will disagree with me no doubt, but this is my advice to you.

Or
I'll run a militia shotty ( pro4) basic reactive plate, fero plate, nades, r/e, shield x2 or a shield an a basic energizer |

I've gone the shotgun route now and have learned the key to being a good scout is learning how to kite. I'll take wide swooping arcs to get behind an enemy or enemies...take them out...and then move on - I've found this method to be highly effective. |
