I don't think high gravity is a very good idea, because no one wants to move slower. But low grav is something I would love to see. |

This was hinted at during fanfest as a long term possibility if I'm not mistaken. |

Old idea. From Closed Beta.
Rejected, rinse, repeat.
IIRC, there might be a comment about it being an idea that has possibilities for the future. Check the Feedback Update sticky in this forum. |

Well, we are on planets around Earth size. If we were to go on a plasma or gas giant, okay, yea. |

Size matters not so much as density. Planets twice the size of earth might have the same gravity, while planets half as large might have even heavier gravity. All depends. I love the talk of variation in gravity on the different worlds of Honor Harrington, would love to see them here.
This was an idea from the closed beta, since removed but there is talk about implementing it in the future. As well there is talk of the gas, plasma, and ocean planets. The thing to keep in mind about Dust, just like EVE is that the shelf life for these games is completely unknown. Eve is slow, but hasn't stopped growing a single year as far as I know. Ideas like this DO get implemented even if it's in the future.
But the Devs have to know about the desire now to be able to work with their relatively small staff and budget to accomplish it in a reasonable amount of time. So keep posting ideas mate! |

You're too high Aaron. Come back down... at 9.8 m/s*s

When CCP makes a planet, they just name it, and give it a category of planet. So yea, size. |

Im not a very experienced coder but it seems like a fairly simple manipulation of a few variables and balance it, If they think they could code it relatively quickly they could introduce it for a trial run then community vote. |

I would love to fight on one of the shattered planets a map that makes dropships almost an necessity? :P but allows for LAVs and tanks to move around because huge chunks are connecting a lot of the parts? :D

Lol. I didn't mean a planet that is both high and low grav. at the same time. Just that high gravity planets would be a different but equally interesting variation to low gravity planets.
Now that you've brought it up though it would be interesting to fight on a planet with both high and low gravity. I think it would have to be in nul and would have some really bizzar high density minerals in one area and something relatively low density in another (liquid helium?). I know real planets have variable gravity at different points but to get 4x earth gravity at one point and 1/3rd at another would take a really odd planet. |
