I believe that this contest/event is completely unfair with the current match making service, unless it is entirely revamped with the 1.4 update. http://dust514.com/news/blog/2013/08/uprising-1.4-and-beyond/ With this event, what is going to happen is that only some of the people (top end) are really going to be able to get the rewards, while those fresh out of academy are going to have to depend heavily upon luck. Goals
Each week during the event players will be asked to meet the following criteria:
Play and complete 30 matches and win 48% of all matches and win tier I rewards
Play and complete 40 matches and win 45% of all matches and win tier II rewards
Play and complete 50 matches and win 42% of all matches and win tier III rewards
Score 100 or more war points per match
The percentages the average person have to get are far to high and should be reduced each by around 4% to make them more plausible for those who aren't going to win the match literally by themselves which is often what happens, where 1-3 people win the entire match for one side. Not only is this system unfair on that measure, it is unfair that a skirmish/domination match, gives the same amount of w/l as an ambush match. An ambush match typically lasts 5-8 mins, where as a domination or skirmish match last roughly 30 minutes. This means that we are going to be forced to play ambush heavily in order to get the rewards unless we have nearly unlimited time to play the game, cause from what I read, for those of us who aren't game masters and decide the game for ourself and being no progress bar, we are going to have to play 100 matches in 2 weeks, 100 matches either way to get full rewards, thus I also suggest that the match total having to be played be lowered by roughly 15-25%. |

It's the principle of the arguement not the actual rewards that are the problem. This is another event between the haves and have nots, effectively meaning that the newest of players coming out of academy are typically going to get screwed out of rewards, while the richest and vets are going to get all the rewards and not even care they got them, except to say "wow don't have to pay for that now" |

- Can't follow up your progression
- It doesn't feel like a event but more like a mindless grind to keep players online. I'm capped and think I don't reached +30 battles yet.
- I thought CCP said their full focus was on fixing bugs and their mysterious roadmap, so why exactly do we have a event while I don't see bugfixes in the latest 1.4 patch notes?
- They still can't figure out what their own rules are: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=103936&find=unread
Screw these events, fix the game first like you told us you were going to do CCP. |

The event just sucks. Because it depends on your whole team and not on you. And then not even on a global scale. If they made some kind of FW event where it depends on the total wins of Caldari / Gallente / Minmatar / Amarr then ok. As long as everybody is still getting rewards. It would be OK if your performance would actually be relevant. Like getting at least 500 WP in 48% of your matches or something like this. But this? It depends solely on luck if you can't squad up with a very good squad.
You go into a match which is ending and you're on the losing side? - You lose You enter a match which is ending and you're on the winning side but you don't have enough time to get 100 WP? - You lose You leave a match? - You lose You get paired with 15 newbies fresh out of the academy? - You lose You get paired against a corp squad? - You lose
How many people have actually succesfully completed this event? Can't be more than 50. With maybe 10.000 - 15.000 active players that's nothing.
I want another Event like Caldari Prime. Because I didn't play Dust when it happened. |

I don't think the win % are to high currently. Think the challenges might be CCPs way of pushing fights into more squad-based run matches. Personally, as a loner I keep hoping squads till i find one that is actually communicating. Then winning becomes much easier.
What is annoying though that there is no way of tracking your personal progress during these official Challenges. It's weird that a PS3 MMO requires pen and paper to track your own stats.
CCP, maybe have a look at other games for player or kill stats, my favorite, Warhammer: SpaceMarine. Gives you plenty of info and badges for kills, type of kill (melee, long range etc), assists (I like the savior, killing an enemy who is damaging team mate) |

If you've had a bad night, those percentages can be pretty high and looming, I've had nights before where it was six losses in a row, four of those were really close and fun matches, but they were still losses. My main annoyance is that the event has no way of tracking what is going on from the player side as you pointed out. My point though is, with a loosing streak you could easily X yourself off from being able to get the rewards as long as you are staying till the end.
As a high lvl char said, these rewards are WTF useless to them, so the ones who don't even need it are the primarary benificiaries. My point though also was, that 50 matches to get all 3 tiers of reward is rather a big steaming pile of BS, cause it counts skirmish the same as an ambush which just is not fair for how much time a skirmish takes. Also, not all people are going to have the time to complete 50 matches in a week. Thus I am asking and hoping CCP lowers the amount of matches and percentalie, so that it is still competitive, yet attainable for a bigger portion of players. |

From a development standpoint: These events are done to get people on and get consistent data. When everyone has the same goal. i.e most kills, most wins, most hacks, they can collect all sort of data. When an event has one piece of equipment perform better or worse than others overall they can pull in accurate data. I've also noticed that each event has a different type of stat to track and a different way to reward you, which means they are likely testing different ways to track stats and reward you in order to do other less apparent things.
From a revenue standpoint: Anytime someone puts on AUR equipment given as an award, it increases their chances of using AUR equipment in the future, which in turn increases peoples chances of continuously buying it. Triple and Double SP events work on a similar principle, but instead they make you more likely to buy boosters. With F2P it's known that once you get someone to start paying, they are far more likely to do it in the future. |

Well I can understand that they are wanting to do data collection, I have no problem with them collecting game stats and things like that, however, I would like to be able to actually finish the event as well and get rewarded for the time and effort I put into it. Just cause I get horrid teams due to the match making, I should not be at a disadvantage compared to the older players when I am spending the same number of hours into the event.
By offering me fake rewards/unattainable prizes my wallet actually seals shut. The events all of them for the last few months I have not been happy with when they had items to be rewarded. Such as Mordu's Challenge, I can't even use what they gave me and most likely never will, since I keep primarily to only Gallente dropsuits (except the heavy currently). I don't know how to fly a dropship in the game and I really don't care to learn how to. I judge a company based upon how it treats the consumers and CCP has a lot of ground to make up on this front. |

I honestly think this is one of the worst events CCP has done for Dust, congradulations on hitting a new low CCP. Thank you for show casing how crappy your match making service is, also noticed you finally bumped up the academy to 2k WP, you're slowly starting to pay attention to what nearly everyone has said for the past two months about it and still not doing it properly. |
