Quote:* Mouse rotation speed caps have been removed * Mouse sensitivity settings have been updated * Replaced old mouse smoothing with a new system * Tuned radial menus for mouse settings (weapon/equipment select) to make them easier to use
Quote:* Implemented idle timer to prevent AFK farming in battle ground or MCC. Players not performing any PVP action in a certain period of time will be kicked out of the game
These two things right here will finally put to rest how many people are truly playing this game.
KB/M now being OP "again" will drive true DS3 players out of this game right into the arms of true AAA console FPS's.
and
AFK fix will push the rest of the on the fence persons off the fence to play or not to play this game anymore.
No more false player count numbers after 1.4.

Notice that they didn't remove the rotation caps on suits, only the rotation cap on mice that was causing them to slow down excessively during quick movements, which effectively gimped them against other control methods.
You still won't be able to rotate any faster than the suit will allow. |

Read the notes again they said the removed the rotation cap on heavy suits so all suits can rotate at the same speed.
Odd way of putting it but they are saying they removed the suit rotation limit. |

So you're telling me DS3 users with Aim Assist won't be able to compete with KB/M users who aren't able to use Aim Assist.. ?
If that is the case or you're just speaking for yourself, you must be terribad with a DS3...
Because I don't think I can name one person i play with using a DS3 that isn't as good if not better then KB/M users , add in a working aim assist on top of that...
You must be new here and don't remember Chromosome where the Aim assist was half ass and KB/M was basically raw input... DS3 users where still top of the board.. |

Odd way of putting it but they are saying they removed the suit rotation limit. ALL suits have rotation caps in this game, man, not just Heavies.
You'll notice that when Wolfman first talked about this update, he suggested removing rotation caps from ALL suits as well as the mouse rotation cap.
Now, when we have the patch notes, they specify the rotation caps were removed ONLY from Heavies.
To me, it would look like he took our feedback on possible imbalance between control methods into account. |

There has never been a successful balance between Controller vs KB/M support for same game, ever. In fact Micro$oft did a study on it and killed it fast.
Quote:According to VoodooPC founder and HP CTO Rahul Sood, Microsoft tested it and then canned it.
Why? Because console gamers were no match for PC gamers.
"There was a project that got killed at Microsoft. This project was designed to allow console gamers and PC gamers to interact and battle over a connected environment," Sood wrote on his personal blog. "I've heard from reliable sources that during the development they brought together the best console gamers to play mediocre PC gamers at the same game... and guess what happened? They pitted console gamers with their 'console' controller, against PC gamers with their keyboard and mouse."
The results shouldn't be too surprising.
"The console players got destroyed every time," Sood added. "So much so that it would be embarrassing to the XBOX team in general had Microsoft launched this initiative. Is this why the project was killed Who knows, but I'd love to hear from anyone involved --- what happened?"
KB/M wins every time hands down and the same will happen here.

To clarify, the heavy rotation cap wasn't removed, it was just set to the same cap as all the other suits. |

You realize that most of that is to do with "experience".. ? it's also few studies that proves that PC gamer's are in general more experienced than the "Casual "Console gamer's.. in other words...;
The PC community have been playing games for ALLOT longer than the Console community. Also PC gamer's average 30+ age, when in the other hand Console gamer's average 20+ age... is a bit of a Generation gap.... |

While Regnum Dei has confirmed that he switches between control methods now and then, xprotoman23 has consistently used a DS3, and I don't think anyone would say he's at a disadvantage judging by how he plays.
You can buy the best mouse on the market and still suck ass.
Also, as I said in earlier posts, the suit rotation caps were NOT removed, so you still can't exceed those no matter what control method you use. |

I agree... if you suck.. you suck...doesn't matter what you using. Also a "Good" player will still be good regardless of what Controls it uses.... Experience and Skills is not something that you "buy" in a shop, it's something that you "Learn" with practice and hard work. |

I have NEVER used KBM. I'm a console player so the DS3 is most comfortable for me. It all comes down to preference. Seeing CCP tweaking KBM shows they're trying to keep the two control systems balanced.

Ditto, I had to change my whole setup to see if KB/M would give me some advantage, and my sniping is better with the mouse, but the keyboard is still used just for texting. I'm still holding a DS3 100% of the time during play.
I can't wait to try out the changes, but I think DS3 users are still as safe as they've ever been.
Except from me and my sniper rifle, I can't hit anything sniping with a controller. |
