OK I am a little confused, so hopefully we can get this cleared up.
So currently - If myself or any squad members spot a red dot, is it displayed to only my current squad or all bluedots on a team?
Current active scanner - If currently I scan a group of reddots is that information carried only to my squad or to the whole team? Also am I really lit up to the enemy team when I scan? Has anyone tested this as I have found my personal research to be inconclusive.
So AFTER 1.4 patch what will be the difference?
Sorry if this seems basic, I would just like to be sure what to expect. |

I dunno about any of that, but I can tell you it doesn't matter.
Why you ask?
You're gonna get shotgunned or knived in the back and no tacnet will see that coming.
Or sniped or Forged from afar...also not on the tacnet
Or run over or tank killed...might see that but the odds of you getting away if being attacked from behind are negligible. |

1. When one person "spots" an enemy, the enemy becomes visible to the entire team. 2. When you use the active scanner you do not become lit up for the enemy team. |

After 1.4 Only active scanner results will be shared with your squad. |

They should at least make it so you are revealed while sprinting and shooting. |

Yes. You are. For the entire 'scan' duration. Which generally is two seconds. It's even in the description in game. I can confirm this from playing against corp mates. It doesn't last the entire duration of the 'light up' though, only while the scanner shoots the little scanning beam.
I know it to be true, been on both the scanner and the scannee.

Are you certain, when I last went through this it wasn't the case. Haven't used a scanner in months though, so I suppose you'd know better than me.

Sir, thank you so much. That would explain my random results. I thought people would look towards me and than look away. I wasn't sure if this was coincidence or something was going on.
Again thank you. I'm kinda looking forwards to these unexpected changes.
The only problem is will my active scanner still make me blip up on enemy radars after 1.4? Because if so this is a little bit mehhh. |

Oh really?
@CCP can we get clarification on this as it seems a big jumble. I would love to know what will happen with active scanners post 1.4 |

I may have been using the Scanner for about a week, but I have been timing the scan results. I am 99% percent sure that I am right.
Granted, every scanner has a different 'Visibility Duration' stat, and the one that I am using has as duration of 16 secs. I can't wait til I spec into Proto and get the one that is 25 secs. :)
What I haven't tested is what happens if you move the scanner around while it's scanning. Everytime that I use it, I keep on the same location for the full duration of the scan activation. |

I thought you were taking about how long the targets are lit up.
I actually wasn't aware that I am visible to the enemy team, but it makes sense. |
