By this I mean the possibility of creating more urban style sockets, interactable that we as mercs can scale, traverse, and fight over.
The incorporation of NULL cannons into such structures, being surrounded by such structures, etc.
All of this can be incorporated into PI style colonies, rather than full scale habitation modules.
Is this possible or on the road map? |

Anything is possible given enough time. I do not know of any on the road map specifically. The way our system works now it would be a bit tricky to pull off a full blown city / urban environment to look "proper". However, I believe it can be done. |

Dropships, drop uplinks. We won't use ladders a lot. However, we are trying to get support for something like "lifts". Or another means in general to get players to the tops of buildings. |

Yes. However, like ladders... I am concerned about players having to walk or climb up 1000's of meters of stairs or ladder rungs. =) |

I am concerned about players having to walk or climb up 1000's of meters of stairs or ladder rungs. =) Personally speaking though, and I know it doesn't mean much coming from one average gamer, I don't mind doing that as long as players have the capacity to open up new modes of combat for themselves.
Defending multi layered structures, roof top sniping, area denial and all that such stuff. But I can agree with you that it would be somewhat problematic.
I can only assume from that response that you guys have some seriously big ideas for this game if were to be climbing 1000's of metres tall structures.... either way Perhaps certain smaller structures could see this sort of access given to them. |

The Research outpost has A medium socket that is a landing pad. Well two landing pads in it.
On the topic of not a lot of ladders. We are not entirely opposed to them of course. They are around in some areas. Probably not as much as some players like. We also have an unusual bug that occurs when a ladder is in a socket and in certain scenarios for unknown reasons the ladders will not function at all. The ladders that exist now are the ones that would always work for sure on the current maps. |

I'd love a map where there's a "sky tower." Multiple elevator shafts in the core, with some stairwells. Every floor will have something unique, be it a CRU, supply depot, turret installations, etc.
Some floors will have landing pads sticking outwards from the building. Other floors will have similar layouts but with turret installations. I imagine at least ten floors, each providing something different. Dropships will actually be meaningful in providing troop transport.
Also, the combat zone will be in the topmost floors, and the redline will start below the lowest floor. |

Tactical Dropship insertions, use of Drop Uplinks, bubble shields, and Air Cav teams would make this game mode great. |

Even something like a five story building outpost where both sides enter through opposing doors on the bottom floor and work their way up. Have maybe 3 null cannon terminals within. CRU on the middle floor. On the third floor on opposing sides have landing pads to drop off troops so they can bypass the chaos on the lower floors. A center landing pad on the roof that both teams would have to really compete for control over. The landing pads would be heavily guarded by installation turrets so the idea at first would be make it over their first and hack them and then after that it would be to have your infantry work their way up to hack the turrets over so give your team a safe landing zone.
Redline would be where it normally is as this would simply be another socket. And have some areas where it is through multiple floors so you can shoot enemies on different floors. |
