A lot of turrets that your team starts with are pretty useless. A lot of their LOS is very obstructed, and it usually seems like many missile turrets are utterly useless. Any input as to their intent when in the redline? |

The turrets with in red lines are meant to protect the spawn locations and red line area. |

but most of the time they are pointless. teams still get redlined, they are only good at shooting down lolships... but then again everything kills lolships.
pretty much they end up being free points for the enemy team on just about every map....lol

You do understand a swarm launcher, FG, railgun or another turret can kill them very easily right? You also understand that putting rail turrets with apparently no range cap on hills overlooking the entire battlefield is a bad idea right? Either way, they very rarely ever fulfill their intended design mechanic and even when they do, it's probable they'll be destroyed very soon after that point anyway.
Blaster turrets I'm okay with, but rail turrets in their red line that can see 3/4 of the map? Come on man... |

Yeah what if redline turrets got extra HP or something? Better regen? IF they were to be relied on to be more defensive, it'd make sense if they were a little more reinforced. |

No one ever mans them and my prototype swarm launcher two-shots them at a very long range. I'm generally out of line of sight by the time the first swarm hits, so it is completely impossible for the turret-AI to defend itself.
Sometimes I also like to use these turrets for completely risk-free dropship kills. I hate it when my own dropship gets destroyed this way and I've become so deranged that I can't even let others have the fun of operating a dropship for longer than a minute.
If you improve the start area turret's positions by a very big lot you should consider making them much more resilient so they can fill their intended role. But please check each turret individually for it's line of sight of dropships, tanks and sniper-positions before you do it.
You'd be best off removing them. I strongly believe that'd make the game much more enjoyable for all involved parties, both defenders and attackers. |
