So I've been playing for a little while, not good, not with anyone, but the buzz has been this big 'F EON' coalition, recruiting players anywhere possible to take down the group that has had a chokehold on Molden Heath for some time.
I figured 'Hey, this sounds great! I'm tired of getting mowed down in pubs by all these protostomping pr1*ks!'
Sign me up! Death to the Tyrants!!
Day 1:
I join this chat, and boy are spirits high! Over 100 total attacks on the board. Theres no way these guys can handle that! I am all for doing my part to help all of us that have been the victims of the pub smashers all this time. I got booted out of the academy and have had a hard time ever since.
what I didn't realize, however, was that facing a group of 6 in a pub was not fun, facing 16 in an organized match, well I think I'll stick to pubs.
I played in 2 of these matches, and it was 10 times worse than pubs. We were even excited when we got a few players from some top corporations in our matches. YaY we are gonna smash em!! We got a whole crew of Outer Heaven! o Look there's a couple Ancient Exiles!! these guys are awesome lets take it to em!!
5 minutes later...
WTF just happened? we are redlined and cant even get out of our spawn! How on earth can I spawn in the MCC and die before I even SEE our homepoint???!?!
so I had to let off some steam and played a skirmish. HOLY SH*T! Skirmish is now AWESOME!! NO PUBSTOMPERS!!
I can finally play a public match and not get redlined instantly!!
I'm sorry to all the guys taking on EoN. but I'm just not good enough or skilled enough to really compete against them. But PLEASE keep them busy for a while. I beg you!
I haven't had this much fun since the academy (except when that 1 guy who obviously didn't belong there got in somehow and shredded our whole team)
Good luck in your war, but now I get to experience this game in a much better light.
I think I'll try an ambush next. did that once a couple weeks ago and had to leave the game cause I saw the monsoon of reds coming at me mowing down everything in their path.. at least in skirmish I could stay alive for a few seconds.
What did the 5 fingaz.... SAY to the FACE?!?!?

Day 2:
ok so I got roped into leaving my newfound love of pub matches. They did this by promising that the timers were stacked and that most the big boys were gonna be elsewhere. We would be dealing with randoms that most likely have never even played together, much less be coordinated
Well crap, I got duped again.. They were right that we didn't see any 'leaderboard' teams, in fact 2 of the 4 matches I played last night I didn't recognize a single person.
what was apparent, thought, was whoever they were, they had been playing for a while.
I heard the coalition is starting to break them. 'AE got a Pure Innocence district!!!' SI took Rogue Spades!' 'several more will fall on day 3!!'
the guys I'm playing with have no land. they are supplied ISK to attack, and are very grateful, except they are starting to notice what I mentioned to them on day 1.
They are starting to feel 'used' They get into these matches and are getting completely annihilated by players we've never even heard of. Yea it didn't cost them anything, but the cost of biomass is not part of what they are getting. and the match results are not helping these guys build morale or teamwork.
sadly, I see Eon having the advantage in this regard.
however, I hear talk of more corps joining the attack. I might have to pick a home before long, but those ive played with know I give 110% during the match. sorry I cant do more to hopefully turn the tide in a match. Im trying
I also get the feeling that there is something going on that isn't out in the open.
good thing im just a mercenary, with no real ties to anyone. I just wish I was good at this game and these matches might be more fun. |

Day 3:
Well the pubs have gone back to their normal ways, so I had assumed this 'war' was over
Then I realized it was CAP day so it made sense
I once again get picked up for some of these matches because, lets face it, win or lose the SP in match is better plus I do like 16 people at least attempting to work together which is a lot different than pubs.
the chat is abuzz early as people are celebrating conquering some districts. Alas I was not part of any of that, but it definitely gave the guys im playing with hope!
This coalition has stacked over 20 timers in a single hour (no idea the actual number, likely much higher) so everyone is gonna get some land right?
wrong again :( I heard of some corps winning by no shows, some others being forced to wait another day as they won vs 5 or 6 people, but couldn't stay alive enough to take it tonight, and then some more that, well as I personally experienced, were enough to make me log off the game..
I get into a match with some friends and behold!! 16 of us vs only 6 of them!! well this outta boost my w/l ratio
hmm.. 3m to go in the barge and they now have 12. that's cool we still outnumber them we're gonna take em down!
the match starts, we have numbers, as long as we stick together they got no chance.
so the guy in charge tells everyone to head to the city and have 4 people head to the closest objective
all of a sudden a hurricane landed and we get pushed out of the city before we could even step foot in there
what happened? we have numbers? How could we possibly not have a single spawn outside of our MCC 3minutes into the match?
in what seemed to be the blink of an eye, we were redlined, with only 12 enemies.
3 minutes later, our MCC shields are gone, and 6 enemies leave the game.
hmm Mass boot? Lets make a charge fellas!!
now we have extreme numbers, so we split up, going after every point. we have to get them all if we're gonna win but we outnumber them more than 2 to 1!!
we had some success, alas it was not enough as the match ended.
I got into 1 more match. This time facing a very strong team. I was not confident, but the guy running this one said don't worry, we just want to stall them and keep them here. when we get down to 5 clones, no one respawn so they have to stay here and we hold them up from going to other matches
Well that explains earlier at least, but what fun is this? I thought this 'war' was to play the game and get to fight? Take some districts so we can all enjoy a slice of Molden Heath, but doing it like this?
then this guy with a funny accent paid me 3million isk and told me to be quiet and stick to the gameplan.
I did, but what is the fun in this? 3 days in, a few districts for the movement, but the guys im playing with are still without a district, and we are no nearer that than day 1.
I just don't have that 'war' feeling about all this, maybe im just paranoid or something
then I remember my Boy Rick James at the China Club and how he could tell those b1tche$ to do whatever he wanted.. cause he had the cash!
'I wish I had 4 hands, so I could give them t1tt1es 4 thumbs down!! THE MILKS GONE BAD!!" |
