There are players who do not have to worry about isk at this point, for them isk actually holds little to no value. Its strange that CCP, a company that employs at least one full time economist, has let this happen. CCP create an isk sink for all these richy-riches to help bring some sanity back into the game and make isk meaningful.
Started thinking about this after reading this hillarious Wall Street Journal article about ghost money in Hong Kong. The article's style is funny not the content which has deep historic roots. It is definitely worth reading for a laught though. |

They can't do that yet, DeadlyAztec. When it is allowed there will be some sort of exchange rate according to CCP (I believe this was mentioned at fanfest).
But yeah, isk doesn't really mean anything. Hell I've given away over 300 mil bringing me down to around 5 mil currently and I don't give a damn. |

Let us buy some sort of officer level tech 2 proto weapons for 1 mil a pop and watch the ISK disappear.
Seriously for as long as this war remains going on i could easily make 30 million ISK a day just from PC battles. |

By that logic than it is strange that any country, they almost all employ at least one full time economist, has people who do not have to worry about money.
No mater the money sink there will always be people who do not have to worry about isk. The more money sinks the worse off people are who do have to worry about isk. |

Actually I believe isk transfers can occur now but at a pretty horrendous tax rate.
It doesn't matter though since many of us are so space rich. I'm guessing most of the successful PC corps are worth many billion already, and if they share with their members those members are ridiculously rich. When some players have 100's of millions of isk but the suits they are using (fully loaded) are still only in the 200k isk range. The risk of loosing suits for these 1% are irrelevant which is what allows proto-stomps and PC matches where corps loose huge amounts of isk even when they win (these losses are of course recouped if the district is held for a long period of time).
Creating some sort of massive isk sink would effectively alter the way that wealthy players act in the game creating more balance throughout player base.
Edit: I am not claiming that this game should not have wealthier players. Far from it in fact, since a redistribution of wealth wouldn't work in this setting. What I am calling for is a way for wealthy players to spend their isk, making all those millions meaningful. Officers equipment would be a great way, or perhaps 10's of millions for different colored dropsuits. Something that will have little in game impact (a small improvement perhaps but nothing major) which even though it is outrageously expensive would provide a way to rebalance the economy and make isk worth something.
I misspoke when I said the 1% since this implies that only a small portion of the player base is wealthy. Almost all the vets I know, myself included have tons of isk and very little concern about it. Making more is simply an academic thing for me at this point. |

Even the richest dust players right now are paupers compared to Eve players. CCP is already looking into revamping the clone buying process and eventually there will be purchasable installations and such to sap up players isk, as well as a market that will self adjust. |

Yes, all of that will happen in time but players making 30 million a day don't really have any reason to run anything but proto all the time. This makes it more difficult for new players to compete and makes their own winnings empty.
Until the EvE economy and the dust one merge it doesn't matter that eve pilots have more money. |
