This is true. But with more powerful hardware we could see smoother development, mechanics, and graphical capabilities. Let us hope!!

If it moves to PS4 I guess I can finally wash my hands of this game, too poor to migrate to a new system, and I won't bother playing against people on a system that can barely handle the beta version.

If it gets ported it will still be playable on PS3 of course. Not everyone is going to get a 4 on day one.

This doesn't mean anything.

LOL first off if Dust is ready to go to PS4 immediately when its out then I will be amazed. However this is a really a conundrum. If they have it for the PS4 on release then they will split the playerbase between PS4 and PS3 thus making the game even worse due to low player numbers. However if they dont have it for the PS4 then alot of people who are moving to the PS4 will give up the game entirely thus lowering the playerbase numbers. Honestly I dont see a way for Dust to win once the PS4 comes out.

It can't be shipped as is. moving to new engine, means scrapping this one.

one game on unreal, and the other on carbon? no.

But dust as is will get stomped on PS4 by the other free games. But In a way, it should. then it will silence those that think dust moving to pc will be it's saving grace.

Then again, it could just be one of those games that just stay with a very small player base.

You're a very sad little man if you want this game to fail so badly.

Ps4= carbon engine which means we can finally get all the stuff we came here for. Even the basic stuff like 32 v 32 battles, new maps, and more districts with more unique functions could be implemented off the bat. I wouldn't be surprised if all this time, CCP had a majority of their team working on PS4Dust and to increase update speeds, they sacrificed some guys to work on PS3.

My only concern is that PS3 dusters will not be able enjoy some of the new features. CCP will have to effectively shift to complete PS4 support without pissing off the PS3 crowd. That may mean us PS4 users will have to wait a bit more.

Neither EVE nor Dust 514 are liisted on the games to be shown at Gamescom on IGN.

Wonder what that means considering we already have dev conf that they are attending? Probably nothing I know but still find it curious.

You guys are acting like if Dust is Halo or Gran Turismo.

There has been no announcement yet and no marketing at all for PS4 - they cant just release it now (even if it was ready) and expect uptake.

I always suspected / hoped that they have the PS4 client being worked on simultaneously, doesnt matter whether its UE4 or Carbon and they will then hopefully go into full on optimization and implementation for sometime late next year or 5/14 2015.

They also know that a good part of their small userbase is happy to stay on PS3 and wont be early adopters of next gen. If they were actually going after that new segment they would definitely have had to make different statements to the press and would have been in place alongside Planetside 2 and Warframe etc given their limited marketing of Dust.

Just release it for the f*cking PC already; at the very least so my EVE players can stop being so butthurt about Dust.

After playing for the last 14 months and sitting through unfulfilled promise after promise, this no doubt will fall into that category as well. This is how it will go.

Epic Trailer showing off some sweet stuff. Then CCP stating SOON, then stating it's on the road map, then CCP saying it's on the back burner due to other missteps in the development process, and finally CCP will go silent on the project all together. Did I get this right?

The only announcement I care about today from Gamescon is the official PS4 release date.
