Can't wait to zoom around in a speeder. Hey CCP, will you have a seat for the passenger? It would be cool to have someone blast away while I redline. Maybe throw on some guns on the speeder that the operator can only use?
I'm interested in seeing how you will work Fighters in the game. Air battles just sound so cool.

If you care about any vehicle of any kind coming in this game, you better be advocating for vehicle/AV balance. That's assuming you don't want to see prototype fighter jets getting shot down by militia swarm launchers. |

If it's something positive, "CCP needs to do this first". If it's negative, everyone hops on the bandwagon and curses them.
No matter your doom and gloom, I'm excited about what CCP is working on and for the future of Dust. A game of this magnitude takes a huge undertaking to create and to finesse. The gaming community of Dust needs to understand this and support more. Dust is going to be great and greatness doesn't happen overnight. And it doesn't happen in a year either.
But anyway, Speeders would be so cool! Planet races...its going down! |

It's not about me being negative, it's about the current state of vehicle/AV balance. I want my Minmatar tank and MTACs like the next guy, but I know that if this stuff came out now, it'd be pointless if it's going to get blown up by a guy lobbing Lai Dai grenades while camping a nanohive. |

Soon as I get a fighter I'm hopping right in it, Gallente or Minmatar, not those self righteous Amarr or corporate Caldari But yeah, I'm hoping they'll be in at 1.5 (though that is stupidly optimistic) more realistic, maybe the winter release,cant wait for 'em |

No passenger by default. make a separate module for the passenger if there ever will be any passenger. Some sort of Cocoon and by voice command you can open your cocoon and start pew pewing. Just using your voice by saying De-cocoon to open up and Cocoon to close. Cocoon, De cocoon. Cocoon, De cocoon

I'm all for bigger maps and larger numbers for those that want to tank, buggy and fly more (what I envision this character for) but also would like to see a instant map version of a capital ship boarding raid. Surely it wouldn't be that hard? corridors and rooms. maybe air ducts or whatever for scouts. Get us interested in what's promised for the future and a connection with EVE, plus also give a map dedicated for infantry (though I imagine in the future we may get MTAC's bursting through ships as support)

i think they have to be careful with the Lore of eve as the ships as far as i know dont generally have room for corridors and such since the ships are piloted via a single Pod which interfaces with the rest of the ship.
Having said this i know some capital ships do have hangors for other ships inside, but i'm not up on how "technically" people get in and out of such situations, so i'm slightly expecting someone to come on and correct me.

Lets be honest. The fighter is going to be some dev's little pride and joy, and he/she is going to innocuously buff the thing with stats that look balanced on paper but blow everything out of the water. Like Flaylocks. Or LogiLAVs. And then after 6 months of community bitching CCP will release a blog to the tune of "we really thought it was going to be balanced, not completely overpowered. But we promise to take a look soon(tm)" |

Don't get me wrong I would love to fly fighters however should we not be focused on getting all of the racial dropsuits and weapons out first? We are talking about skipping over so much of the groundwork here.
Right now we need to get the racial variants in. |

They have crew, living, quarters and yes, corridors. The smallest ship in Eve is almost the size of an mcc, so we could have a level inside a medium ship, like a battlecruiser, it would fit. Crew for smallest ships is around 2-3 guys if it has a pod and way more if not. Having a pod do not imply in having no crew or corridors, it only means you need way less crew, but even the smallest gallente frigate usually still require someome else besides the captain in the pod. Capital ships have room for thousands and could support epic battles inside them. |

Dropships can not 1v1 without one person pussying out, damage can not be dealt quickly enough to kill each other before one fly's away. Fighters in my opinion should be high damage agains air, low damage against infantry but still with a ability to hurt infantry. |

I really hope we see them before next Winter, but I'm a little hesitant to hold my breath at this point. |

Well the inspiration for this thread came from watching FanFest. Before Brandon talked about the concept of fighter jets and speeders, he showed the designs of the complete racial variant of classes, weapons and MCCs. It was pretty cool to watch and got me hyped!
