Does CCP base their nerfs around the AR and compare weapons to it? And do they test them out themselves to decide if it should be nerfed... Because that's what it seems like. They should test skilled players and see the results. I garentee the results will be different. |

If you base balance around the top players, Dust 514 would fade to late 90's fighting game levels of obscurity. The trick to balancing game mechanics is player skill > effectiveness. Easier to use weapons are always more powerful while niche weapons are better at their respective niche. The AR is meant to be easy mode, because it has to be easy mode. But it's so easy that it's also the best weapon in even niche situations right now. That part needs to change. |

Ars are not o.p. I have prof 5 in it and my STD scr with no prof has jyst as much killing power, the reason so many kill you is 1 there's lots of them considering its freebie gear, 2 you don't use your weapon how its suposed to
3 you don't know how to set up a dropsuit, 4 you're just not good
So which number is the reason they kill you |

Std scr is like a tac ar on full auto (until it blows up in your face) it cant be compared. You should compare the assault scr instead. |

I think nerfs are based on a large number of factors but usually boil down to if people are using them in the way they were envisioned by the designers.
TAR's were nerfed because they were better than sniper rifles at sniping.
Caldari logi was nerfed because they were better at assault than Caldari Assault
Flaylocks were nerfed because they were better than pretty much everything and were a side weapon
I don't believe they are compared to AR's. AR's are just sort of the all around weapon that most people are comfortable with. |
