As for the video... he feels the 16 v 16 numbers and unequal footing deteriorates Dust's value as a competitive shooter. That's his angle.
From my point of view it's numbers, game modes and map design do not incite large battles. Wanting a massive chaotic conflict surrounding a clear objective is what I want. Lack of this diminishes the need for highly co-ordinated combined arms strategies. That's my angle.
Neither extreme is delivered on. |

Subjective review
Quote: As I said in the video, I'm not competitively interested in games with standard battles of larger than 5 vs 5
So after hearing this, why does his review even matter? And what's with this thing with so called "competitive" or "I've been playing FPS games competitively on PC for so long" players who think that what they say matters to another individual who doesn't fall into that category but enjoys the game immensely?
So...yea |

esports will make their way into dust. it's predetermined. while it's not my bag (i come from MAG, so i want big assed battles) it's certainly something that will build teamwork and squad composition theorycraft. |

So...yea Right, because there's such a thing as an objective review. People's prior backgrounds are also immutable, they never enjoy anything outside of it or are ever able to give any insight into something of a similar nature. An 'outsider' opinion is immediately worthless. |

Its sounds like Dust might not be the right game for him. CCP seems to be gearing for those full scale, chaotic and messy battles with explosions, vehicles, and bodies flying everywhere all to the tune of Ride of the Valkyries. |

Don't be a girl and get stuck on trigger words. Digest the information in whole. First he said that he doesn't even like games with Dust's scale. So automatically he's not going to enjoy it because it's not his type of game.
How can you play checkers when you don't enjoy it and figure it to be less strategic than Chess? Of course your review is going to be biased. Of course you going to review negatively.
And yes, there is a such thing as a objective review. Seems like some wisdom is lost here... |

yea as long as its not cheating the system, right? That is in the rules. Why else are there stories of robberies and deception in New Eden? Don't be silly.

while they are, they also want eve players betting on dust-jocks for fun and profit.
also, a 'spectate' mode for eve players is implied. so you'll have an audience... |

5 vs 5? So he didn't play any of the ps3 and 360 generation of FPS? To each their own, but man that's like gramps saying "I miss the old competitive games of 2 vs 2. like in golden eye"
Johnny, even if he didn't care for 16 vs 16 (small number btw) Their was still Unreal Tournament 3, Vegas2, and couple of others. But you missed great games man, like BATTLEFIELD BAD COMPANY 2, Resistance 1 and 2. KILLZONE 2 and 3.
and of course Warhawk and MAG. |
