Instead of another QQ thread, lets do another "ideas to fix AFKing!" thread.
I like the idea of when spawning at the MCC, you are forced to already be in free fall towards the ground. No need to be inside the MCC to begin with.
I don't want them to remove the passive SP gain per match, but i'd like them to tweak it. Say, after 2 minutes of being stationary, the passive SP is cut off for you. Once you move, it starts accruing again.
Now the truly die hard AFKers will still sit there, and twitch the stick or mouse every now and then to continue to afk...but they have to keep their short attention spans on the game for a large portion of it. They will start to forget to twitch it every 2 minutes, and start losing out on large portions of SP, and their interest in the game will start to wane, because it now takes either watching the game constantly to AFK accrue SP, or more then likely get a very low amount of SP for their AFKing trouble.
And then after like 5 or however many more minutes, forcefully booted from the game. Now why not just have them get booted after 5 minutes instead of stopping the SP accrual if they would get booted anyways?
Because it doesn't punish truly AFK players! The people who, say, have to take a quick break to bring in the groceries. or something even longer like having to do the dishes (for the kids who have parents). They won't get booted, but they will receive the small penalty from their SP accrual stopping while they were AFK, since they weren't contributing to the team at that time.
Of course doing this wouldn't be easy coding at all...lets get more ideas! |

They can just use a rubberband or find something to hold the analog stick down so they keep moving in a circle or something. |

Hmm...i suppose afking on the field in the redline would become the trend then.

You could make a game interesting enough to not want to AFK, which is really the only way to not only fix AFK, but also deter people from finding loopholes in any kind of anti-AFK system. |

Lol true. Also rollover SP could fix a sizable portion of AFKing.
Or perhaps some other incentive to play while being maxed out on SP. Like a chance for aurum equipement to drop while being capped for noobs, and officer weapons for vets, respectively depending on some statistical number like lifetime SP.
could give newberries the option to try gear a little bit stronger then their own, and vets a reason to grind for those precious officer weapons.
Edit - Or maybe increased ISK rewards while being capped. Grind in your proto gear till you hit the cap, then you can start farming for ISK while you wait for the cap to be reset if you want. That would give people who aren't rich or in largely funded corps an incentive to play even after capping. |
