I bring this one up mostly because it might be a symptom of something more problematic (it's kind of amusing, if immersion-breaking, on its own).
Those of you who played "Skyrim" may remember that giants tended to "golf" their victims, swatting their bodies into the stratosphere at a velocity usually reserved for artillery shells. Well, lately, that's happened to me a couple times in DUST.
Both times it's been by explosives: once, jumping, when an LAV exploded too close by, the other time when someone put a mass driver round right at my feet. My POV rockets up past the rooftops (in the first instance it literally blew me through an overhanging structure) and very eventually reaches the top of its arc and begins to fall back.
It's not distressing (aside from only happening when I've just died), but it's weird, and it seems as though if the physics glitch that causes it also appears elsewhere, it might be an actual problem. |

It happens to all of us and I for one find it rather funny when my body enters into low planetary orbit.
I feel like we should get a distance our corpses have flown metric as part of the death screen. |

....You never wondered why a vehicle that's supposed to be somewhat decent driving on various terrain always rolls an excessive amount of time? |

Having spent abundant time on foot watching the events that cause the roll? (People tend to think they can run me over. Since I run a minnie scout, they're only occasionally right.) Not ... really. It seems to mostly happen when someone gets careless enough to get both torqued and bounced, hitting a moderate mound at an angle, for example. The tires leave the ground, the vehicle twists, and the LAV hits the ground passenger-side-door-first.
It might make sense to ask CCP to lower the LAV's center of mass? Otherwise, it frankly just looks like bad driving. |
