Not that I'm defending an obviously ify mechanic, but maybe we could call it drag because of the extra em signature?

Armor Tanks are faster than Shield Tanks, even with all their plates, better acceleration and top speed.

Was, but Shield Tanks were more powerful than Armor, didn't need to remove the speed, that's the problem with CCP they don't just nerf, they nerf three things at once.

General observation using the Charybdis, rather than just take notice of the LAV think about the other Shield Vehicles, one of the "bonuses" for shield tanks is it's not meant to be weighed down by Shield Extenders, it is.
Same with Dropships, despite being more nimble, they too are weighed down by Extenders.

Even if just power cells it would take added parts and mass to extend the shields. If the existing machinery were capable of creating more shields without added equipment than it would have more shields to begin with. Would be silly to design something that could produce 3500 shields than only use 1500 of it. |

Typically yes, Gallente are faster than Caldari craft, but the Caldari craft can generally start hitting out from further ranges and better accuracy. |
