Being the CEO of a small, indie corp, I find it hard to recruit players, as many of them want to join bigger corps, with districts under their control, and other wonderful things like that. We have none of that, meaning our member pool is limited, and it is often difficult to get a full squad together. This is made even more difficult when you factor in things like time zone differences, jobs and the such like.
What I ask for is a simple, informal alliance. One that lets me and the core group of my corp squad up with some guys from another corp in a similar position. No mergers, no becoming a feeder/training corp, just some good old fashioned teamwork.
Anybody out there fancy taking me up on this offer. Would be awesome to play with some new people, and it may even help spread the word about us. Either way, I look forward to playing with you guys. |

the best thing do to is to not even focus on recruiting elite players. just get guys that have fun squading up with eachother. After awhile they start becoming better and better and end up becoming pretty good themselves. It is how we started. The problem with the players that want to be part of corp that have districts and elite players is they usually leave the corp after a couple of losses. I've seen it happen to many corps and it really is pathetic. Just my advice. |

I will join your channel next time i'm online, and i agree that there is no real influx of new players. I really don't mind playing with rookies, as it does take a bit of time for people to get good at this game. I just want some fun people to join my corp, so that there is a nice variety of people to play with. Our corp is really a core of three players, including myself, so it would be great to get some new blood in, regardless of whether they are part of our corp or not.
I hope to see you all on the battlefield, and hope you all play well. |

Due to the high cost, an official alliance was not really on the cards for our corp unless a huge investment from our partners was provided. I feel that the informal alliance is a much better path for us to take, as we only really want to introduce some new blood to our games, and possibly recruit some more members. The point I try to make is that three people playing together all the time may get a bit stale, so having new players can only be positive. I just hope that people would want to play with us and help us to improve as a corp, whether that be by playing with us or against us. I hope to meet you on the battlefield to test our abilities. |

Why do we give all the work to a select few? When we are struggling to field a team why do we turn to the big names and allow them to have all the fun? There are a lot of talented mercs in New Eden that want a chance to fight in the glorious battles of Planetary Conquest! They just need a place to gather, a pool to be a part of. Give your members a chance to be part of the action!
Join the Independent Corporation Network (ICN)
The independent corps in New Eden has some stiff competition. We face huge conglomerations of some of the finest corporations in the universe. We have some limited options available to us though.
1.We can allow ourselves to be absorbed into these larger entities and lose our individuality and independence. 2. We can fight and die alone, always overwhelmed by their numbers, talent, and resources. 3.We can learn to work together and help each other succeed.
What I am proposing is not an alliance. No one will be in charge and each corporation has complete independence. There will not be any requirements other than your corporation is an independent corporation without any ties to an alliance. You can run your corporation any way you see fit.
SE7N has tried the alliance route and did not like the restrictions or regulations it brought with it. However it did bring a pool of allied Mercenaries that we could draw from when we were short people for our battles and squads. Now that we are independent we no longer have that valuable resource.
I have started a chat channel (ICN-1) to help independent corporations network together, fill squads, and prepare for battles. Your members will benefit from this service and so will your corporation. Basic business practices are to create contacts and network with other businesses to improve your own success. This channel is for organized groups that need to fill holes in their teams or to organize and make joint efforts in a campaign. Why should we allow the mega corporations and alliances dominate the field? Keep in mind though that it is not an alliance and this is not a cease fire agreement. We can network together and help each other out but that doesnGÇÖt mean we wonGÇÖt be facing each other in battle on the next contract. After all, ItGÇÖs just business.

Of course you have seen it. EoN has been built on other corporations folding. Not a knock on you guys but more of one on the guys that can not take the heat. The first sign of trouble they bounce to another corp instead of sticking it out and seeing what happens. We've had many do it in KEQ as well. Some of them post on the forums quite often. I call them front-runners.
Good luck to the OP. I play alone alot in skirmishes, if you see me send an invite and I will play or hit me up in-game to squad up. I suck as a heavy but will be there until the end with you.

We'd be interested. We don't really have a CEO (we do in the game, but we're a multi game clan run by council, which I'm on) and are looking for a less restrictive alliance.
But, if I could ask, why not start a new alliance on your own, and just run it a bit loosely compared to the others? Or get a few corp heads together, iron out a treaty of sorts, and go into the alliance with that in mind so everyone is on the same page? I'd be down for that as well. |

Umm i think he was actually talking about corps you've beaten not you. I think it was more of a round-a-bout compliment to be honest because you guys didnt have players leave after the occasional losses unlike some corps that pretty much disappeared after losing a few in a row. That sounds like a good idea and a fairly noble one. Which is why I feel the need to ask one question, what about security? in the alliance chat you know everyone there is in the alliance but with a pub channel people can AWOX their little hearts out and afterwards there is not really much you can do except maybe blacklist that alt which would then mean you would have to stay on alert for that particular PSN account.
Apologies for negativity but I can see that being a logistical and security nightmare. That being said it would be a true mercenary way of getting fights and I applaud the effort for that and hope you succeed. |

Yeah its risky. But the idea behind networking as a business is relational. You take chances with some people and if it works out you use that individual or corp again. I have a post reserved for blacklisted individuals in the original thread. As a business minded mercenary you need to think about your reputation and how others perceive you. So yes AWOXing is possible but honestly its possible in alliances and corps as well. |
