How about earning reputation for the NPC corporations we battle with? Then, (like in eve) your able to get unique (maybe officer) equipment from an NPC store, as well as the drops.
Example of the Grind. (out of 100): - 0.3 against the corp you are fighting against. +0.2 for fighting and loosing +0.5 for winning
With this could come "Perks!", like a reduction of how much an Amarr suit costs with a high reputation with Amarr. Or even an increase of ISK from contracts with people who like you.
Obviously with battles being random there isn't much control of who your fighting for, but it could add an extra edge. Something extra to fight for that has lasting benefits.
What do you think? |

What do you think? Or we can just use the EVE system of rankings..... |

This. It is also a major project and there are more important things to give out first.

First of all doing this for NPC corps would essentially be pointless. What NPC corp you fight for is randomized meaning statistically you will fight for all of them an equal number of times and if we assume your Win/Loss is fairly uniform, your standings would float around 0 in the long run. Since you'll be fighting for and against all corps an equal number of times, you'll be raising and lowering your standing by an equal margin. If there was a long term delta, it would be uniform across all corps, again making it pointless. That's not corp loyalty, its just a measure of how long people have been playing random battles.
Now if you were talking Faction Warfare where you can pick who you fight for...well that's another thing. CCP already has plans to incentivise faction loyalty (and the word you're looking for it 'Standing' not 'Reputation'). However unlike EVE they're trying to avoid the whole Loyalty Point system, so we'll see how they handle it. |
