Its called scamming. This is New Eden. It happens every day. Poor suckers, and newbies are taken for millions of ISK by vets, long time sleeper players tear down corps and alliances and make off with billions of ISK, betrayal is the name of the game.

It takes a new player roughly 300ish days to get into the REVENANT, but hell you'd never fly a revenant without the core skills, the drone skills, the weapons skills, maxiing out all lower skills, and generally wouldn't even risk $8000 unless you had been in this game for a significant amount of time..... all that effort gone in an instant of betrayal.

I mean **** you know its bad when the c.e.o lets me in and give me the director spot to take the wallet and shut that corp down.. but I can see how all these robbing the hood guys would be mad..
