Right now we have the SG and sniper in the Light weapon slot. I consider these to be scout weapons. New guns all around is greatly welcomed. My question is, can there be a different weapon that will compliment the scout role? A quiet weapon perhaps?
I find that the king in stealth kills and scoutdom are the knives, but these are a sidearm. A little help here to fully differentiate between assault and scouts. thank you.

What about EWAR equipment like webifiers, nos, scramblers, and target painters? I don't think scouts are gimped combat wise, it's more about their indirect combat capability. |

yeah all that non-combat ability is awesome, but if you do have to combat, what will be a cool scout weapon you can rely on. what is nos? A grenade that jams out electronics would be sweet for scouts. Things along these lines. Indirect warfare that IS helpful to the team, so we can be masters (game-changers) at that! |

Nosferatu. They're modules that drain an enemy's capacitor and adds the energy to yours. Our dropsuits don't currently use capacitors and I'm not sure if we'll ever see that be added in game.
Once the combat rifle gets released that's what I'll be using on my suits. |

Why not make it like this: As soon as a scout equips a weapon to his suit, this weapons gets a specific bonus: AR / SMG become silenced Scrambler Pistole gets increased melee dmg Sniper Rifle gets +Ammo Shotgun gives gives armor / shield reg after a kill
Why? Because Scouts suck anyways |

That's what I'm thinking. With the mobility and low profile, scouts would make excellent puller/snare class. |

Net guns Cross bows with plasma hot tips like nk 's Abilitys like hack a nano hive or drop link an it turns into a bomb so that when a guy spawns or gets ammo it blows A superior speed mod that is only comparable on a proto racial scout fit ( keep it from being FOTM) A plasma sg that lacks range does 85 damage no splash damage A friggen spear lol I ll get back to this thread |

Scouts get off road motorbikes to ride . Maybe a scout jump mod so we can jump tanks or a jet boost to let us get to advantage points with out a drop ship. Or scouts have free run abilities making a tough target to hit . Scout trip-mines infantry proximity mines just for scouts . Grid grenades - a grenade that highlights all the enemies in the area of effect . Scout vision - allows you to see though objects .
Just some really Basic quick ideas .. |

What about neutralisers instead - but for stamina? Though we might as well just have webs in that case - or sprint scramblers...Or ECMs that scramble radar and stops red chevrons showing up. DUST really needs developed Ewar...

The real issue here is that we all want a combat-oriented specialisation for light frames.

The scram pistol works pretty nice for head shots, and it is what I currently main (I've temporarily gotten bored with both sniping and shotgunning), most effective when you have the high ground or the enemy is distracted.
The Ion Pistol which will be released eventually will be a shotgun lite sidearm. So a Ion/Flaylock Combo would be a very cheap high spike cqc setup with room to fit more offensive equipment
I personally think there should be a support weapons class
Min: Flash Cannon
Shoots out a dumb fire container that explodes after a few seconds and blinds any one facing it, letting you use your sidearm to jump the opponent or to dash between open gaps
Cal: Phage Pistol
Penetrating round which then corrupts the nano technology in armor that will drain hp slowly for X seconds. The draining effect only works if an enemy shields are down.

You can't say SG and sniper are "scout weapons" because they are just light weapons. Anybody in the game can use them to great effect, especially the sniper rifle. So they really aren't any more a Scout's turf than they are Assault or Logi turf.
What Scouts, Logis, Assaults, Commandos, and probably Pilots all need are weapons and/or mods that only work in those specific suits, in order to enhance combat roles.
Sentinels and Heavy Frames already have the heavy weapon all to themselves. Granted it's a category that's not fleshed out completely yet, but my point is CCP has shown they are willing to restrict item use based on suit type.
I'd like to see maybe a flashbang grenade that is Scout only. Either to give us a few seconds to book it or a few seconds to charge in for the kill. Also some EWAR mods that are Scout Only would be nice. But in the same sweep, to help make all classes better Logis should get mods that enhance how they support (not how they kill) and Assaults should get mods that enhance their strengths too. |

How about attachments that can be fitted on every weapon that would be different for different suits? Scouts could add silencers to light weapons and sidearms and could add "knives and stabbing weapons" to the guns. |

Looks like we are all in the same page here. The reason I called them scout weapons is because scouts like to use the shotgun and sniper. Good ideas guys. I want to see more people in scout suits, then there will be a special reason to have scout vs. scout violence. My corp mates were talking about the ultimate ewar: Damaging there comms so they won't be able to talk to each other for x seconds! |

To be fair I think most weapons should - I see things like SG and Sniper rifles being merely weapons scouts can take better advantage of than other weapons available. I like the idea of weapons that 'debuff' enemies - and there needs to be (IMO) an antithesis to the Logi a 'warlock' to the 'cleric' if you catch my drift - it kinda depends how CCP decide to implement Ewar.
If they make ewar equipment like active scanners, then Id expect to see 'anti-logis' (med frame with multiple equipment slots) with ewar bonuses as opposed to logi bonuses Logistics are supposed to receive (they plan to reassess all suit bonuses as far as Im aware). Ideally though, they will make the antilogi a light frame - they'd be able to get into position to deliver crippling Ewar, but are easy to take out if caught without support.
Or they could may finally introduce active modules like in EVE.
Back to the point I was gonna make - they would ideally introduce a new light frame variant an 'assassin' or 'hunter' suit - these could have actual weapon bonuses, such as SG reload speed or sniper sway etc. instead of profile dampening or whatever. I'd like the scout to be good at recon and support and have the ability to kill enemies be a secondary consideration. |
