When I was dropping off my team today I had a wonderful idea why don't we allow the people just sitting there in your ship 2 fire from inside (with the condition that the doors are open. This would fix a couple problems (I think). One is the drop ships weak weapons, now its as strong as your team. The useless blueberry who sits in there and does nothing could now shoot stuff. And it would make drop ships that much more useful.
Plz tell me what u think thx |

while it is a great idea, this will not fix the problem with the dropship.
our problem is that we cannot preform our role as transport without the ability to tank any type of weapon. |

I've dreamt of sniping from a dropship but when you look at the big picture of a MD raining explosives down on you from a distance that is too high for your weapons to do any damage, then you can see how P*ssed the world of DUST will be at this idea.
Take those types of weapons out and this idea would be viable but unfortunately it would not be viable to take the weapons out in the first place.
`Sigh. Just another fun game of DUST . |

Almost positive this is a technical restriction rather than by design. Doesn't mean it can't eventually get worked in though. |

What we could do is explosive weapons damage the ship (or the user) or they are not able to be fired inside or we could do bullet weapons only with reduced accuracy |

oh now i see shooting a forgegun out of a derpship would be fun...
but derpships rnt stable to stand up in so expect to miss... |

Yes, sir. This has been taught of.
Not really any major technical hurdles, imo.
In Chromosome, you could "surf" on top of a dropship and fire down at hostiles. The big problem was hit detection; your gun fire would hit the dropship.
I've used swarms, mass drivers, and even sniper rifles while dropship surfing.
It's a whole different ball game, and is very fun.
+1 to your idea. Not sure why we're not allowed to use our small guns from the dropship. It's simple really. Open up the dropship doors to allow us to shoot and be shot at, and close the dropship doors for protection. |

This has been discussed a lot. I have argued with my friend over this point for a while, and we have determinded that it would break dropships and make them op. Unless you could only use sidearms in which case it MIGHT be ok....stress MIGHT though as we discussed this before flaylocks. |

Or we could create a Whole different kind of drop ship that has no guns but allows its passengers to fire out
And if u think about it in real life (what is that ) in helicopters soldiers can fire out the door (at their own risk) |
