4. Give no isk to players that sit in the redline.

yea me either... they are usually in the mounains facing the other way or directly under the MCC. Some are even AFK in the open or just not spawned in.
It is all to common to see half the team doing absolutely nothing! To see that half all in the MCC? now THAT's rare!
I've suggested kicking anyone that spends too much time in the MCC while at the same time giving them no ISK or SP. This makes way for other, more willing, players to enter the fight. Those behind the redline could still earn ISK and SP but at a much lower rate as if you get redlined then you kinda can't help being behind the redline now, can you? It's uncommon for a redline match to last that long but if the match drags out and you are redline sniping (even if you are getting a good number of kills) you will find yourself with less SP and ISK then the guy that forgot to fit equipment and just went 0/1/12! You want to stay safe behind the redline? fine! But low risk = low reward.
P.S: I also suggested that if you are in the MCC when it gets destroyed then you die as well.
`Sigh. Just another fun game of DUST. |

1. make anyone who goes 0 WP to lose isk. (if you are not contributing to the team, why do you get any isk payout? also, it is unfair for those who are really putting an effort to winning to lose isk via lost dropsuits due to afker's greed. We put our suits and isk on the line to win while others are reaping from our contribution. Why is it fair that the guy that does nothing gets a cut from the paycheck while the guy that does the most work gets slightly more pay. Would you pay someone at mcdonalds to stand around and do nothing? would CCP paying employers that do nothing? please address this)
2. make anyone who goes 0 WP gain no SP (in fact, make SP gain = 5xWP. You should be developing skills the more you do something ie: hack, kill, etc. Would a person get better at rock climbing if they never practice climbing? would a drive develop better driving skills by never getting behind the wheel? Make a direct connection between SP and WP. And the whole "what about the noobs?". If they arent good enough to kill, then go HACK. Hack, objs, supply depots, CRUs, ANYTHING.)

As I understand it, and reading about different AFK'ers, here's what I would do if I was CCP.
You get a certain amount of SP for how long the match lasts, but not that much. Say like 1 point a second in active game, and cap it at 1200 (20 min. game). Now, separate the active SP gain from the MCC. If you're in the MCC, your timer isn't on meaning you earn nothing. Base the rest of your SP gain on WP, like a kill is 200 SP, a hack is 200SP (maybe 300 for a null cannon), 100 SP for a kill assist, smaller amounts for resupply, revive, etc. Base it more on WP, and AFKers will stop.
What I'd love to see is a "game changer" bonus, which would hopefully discourage AFKers. For instance, your team is getting whooped in Skirmish. They have 3 of 5 nulls, your MCC shields are down and a chunk of the armor, and you fight back, take control of 2 more nulls, hold them and win the match. It would be really cool if you got an additional 1000 SP or something for being the guy who hacked one of those and helped change the course of the game. |

have to disagree about some of this it goes against dropships...
we could just extend the redzone time to 45 secs which could be enought ime to suicide run that thale sniper or annoying tank in the redzone..
or that group of annoying snipers...

CCP LogicLoop wrote:Cross Atu wrote:I've seen countless threads relating to redline issues, MCC/afk camping and the struggles of new players trying to get established in the game. Here's an idea which I believe could help, if not resolve, all of these things. (Thanks to Jaqen Morghalis for helping spark this idea)The change:
- Return gains of Active SP for time spent in match to their prior 1 second = 5 SP level
- Remove/pause all such 'time played' gains of Active SP while the Merc is either in the red zone or unspawned.
Note: There would be a "grace period" on spawn in during which full 'time played' gains would be granted even in the red zone. This is to avoid punishing Mercs who are moving from initial spawn into the battle or who have been pushed back but are still fighting. The timer would be reset upon each spawn in allowing even Mercs who are red lined to get full 'time played' SP so long as they continue to actively try and break out of the red line. Specific length of the timer to be determined by CCP based on in game metrics. EffectsNew players are gurenteed some solid level of SP earnings for deploying into match, so long as they stay actively participating in battle. This helps reduce their frustration and earn SP a bit more rapidly to help soften that learning cliff Dust 514 has. MCC Campers - These guys get essentially nothing under the new system. Zero 'time played' earnings and zero WP based earnings doesn't leave you with much. Redline snipers - Sniping from within the redline with tanks, rifles, et al would still be possible under the new mechanic but that extra safety would come at a cost in reduced SP and ISK gains per match. This may not fully resolve the issue of red line sniping but it would at minimum create a tactical and earnings trade-off if choosing to redline snipe thus bringing greater parity to the risk vs reward paradigm of sniping in match. 0.02 ISK Cross I can not go into details at this time, but I can assure you we are making changes to address most of the issues you have covered.

CCP is working on the vehicle lock feature so you don't have to worry about that at least
Might I suggest you spawn a few seconds late so as to ensure that most of the BBs are gone. Then you can just move away from the ones still there and call the tank in. I'm sure this will help but I'm also sure this won't completely stop the hijackings. Also I've noticed that when in a squad, this is less of a problem (I know a few tankers and have only witnessed them get jacked twice and one of the times they were able to get it back).

The CAPS actually harm the space time continuum. Please refrain from destroy the future.
Of course, spawning into the MCC and then realizing you needed to adjust a Suit Fit never happened to OP I would suppose.
AFK is not against the game model of either EVE or DUST. The Devs have commented several times but exploits and taking advantage of game play is natural to gamers. Add the fact that this game requires horrendous levels of SP to make progress and AFK seems inviting to many.
The Squad Lock for Vehicles is still being discussed but does not have a deployment schedule, that I found anyway.
This is DUST. QQ is not a useful attribute to have in game or out. |

The solution is simple and I don't know why CCP hasn't thought of this before.
If you get 0 WPs in the game, then just make it so the get no isk and no SP from the battle. The Passive SP in-battle will work for anyone that gets above 0 WPs.
(Also make it so DS pilots get WPs so they won't waste time in the battle. |

Actually, solving that is really simple... Give no ISK or SP based on time of play... Make it all based on the skill point system... This whole AFKing problem has come up because of the time-based ISK and SP rewards...
I don't think the current SP system is excellent. Most notably there is no SP reward for averting an enemy hack at one of the points. But I think that this system has a lot of good points and can become really better, really easy....
So base the ISK on that... And give more SP rewards all the time, instead of time based SP rewards and little being gained from the actual fighting... |

My opinion: * CCP want us to buy active boosters. * People want to play matches without AFK ppl.
=> Give us a solo mode where ppl can practise and be afk and get this ******* 180k SP.
Why?
because CCP can then sell their boosters and are happy. And ppl can do their matches and be happy.
And as long as the solo ppl can hit the SP cap everyone is happy!
Or did I miss something? |

Well at least the AFKers will do something helpful for the team..
It just doesn't make sense for people to turn on their PS3, go into Dust, get into a battle, just so they can AFK. Makes no sense. |
