This is a little Added feature to the PC side of DUST, and the Insta Battle side. This is an Attempt to Have Corps from different TZs be able to Wage war in a Easier way, and so Solo Players grinding
Say Corp A wants to Invade Corp B, but they don't want to risk losing any Vehicles so they can defend themselves better when they get attacked.
So Corp A Puts up a Contract for 15 Mil ISK to Invade Corp B's district.
The Contract is Put into the Queue for being put up on the Merc Contract List at the Time the Battle is happening.
Corp B Gets an Alert saying "you are going to be attacked, do they want to put this battle up to contract" and the Same thing happens here that happens like when the Attackers put up the Attack.
It gives grinding something Worthwhile to it, as well as having it affects the climate of the Game.
This, Plus a Political Ticker would make the Average Player more knowledgeable to the Politics Behind what happens in PC and the like. |

Here's an idea. What if there was a laser cannon that could hit ships in EVE. We fight over the control point (Domination, basically) Whatever team is in control can get targeting data from ships EVE side (For instance, A FC in EVE can target a ship and have the cannon fire at it) And the Cannon does say, 1,000,000 damage, with a 5 min cooldown, but can only target capital ships. This gives EVE a vested interest in Dust, and gives us mercs a feeling that we can make radical changes in this universe we are in. |

Sounds good.
But quite off topic. |

If we were doing skyfire, youd want more than one but allow a networking option once captured to slave all skyfire batteries to one console/target!! |

I like the idea. An alternative to just blowing your own money to launch an attack. But, such a system could essentially destroy the purpose in controlling districts, and make holding districts even more difficult and less desirable.
That potentially takes PC out of corporate control, and puts it on the winds of chance. If anything, we need a way of mitigating the amount of PC matches that are launched via an zone-of-control or front-line system of some sort... not a way to generate more.

This is just a way for two corps to fight outside of their time zone.
Can you explain how this makes the holding district impossible/extremely difficult?
The one corp is still making the contract, I see this is just making all the people and corps able to be a force to be reckoned in PC.
How does this make PC harder then it already is? |

That is a pretty cool idea to put up merc contracts to attack districts. Should be structured so that the defender can't see who the actual generator of the contract is at all and who took it only until the war barge - that could add a bit of skulduggery. ;)
Contracts for defending would be equally useful and potentially more lucrative since there will be a sense of urgency on the generators part.
One thing that might be an interesting idea is if you can offer individual operator or squad size contracts. For instance, you have 10 of your top hitters and you contract out for ringer squad of high end players to give you a little extra juice during the match. |

You said it. Absolutely everyone will constantly launch an attack now.
That's what would make it even more difficult.
As it stands now, a corp wanting to breach into PC, simply needs to gather the amount of money, thankfully which is higher than 15 million isk, and launch an attack, OR join an alliance and receive a district to build resources on.
If folks can just launch attacks on other people's district for cheap, and utilize practically the entire Dust playerbase as their army, it simply won't be profitable (time-wise) to play PC, at all.
The idea is good because it gets other players involved, but...
PC and districts are already burden enough anyhow. No one would really want to just be a target to get shot at it constantly. With nothing else to do in the game, that's all that would be happening. |

PC needs to produce a resource that EVE players will care about. They need to REALLY care about it. Something like goo EVE players drink that gives them a 10% increase to SP gain for a week, or a resource required to keep Null-Sec jump bridges operational (jump bridges are incredibly important for major Null Sec alliances to move fleets, and goods produced around New Eden). Something like that would be highly motivational in getting EVE players to care about DUST. CCP should lean towards having this resource be too good, rather than not good enough (at least until DUST is off life-support). |
