So... I've been trying it for lol's on and off for prolly 1.5 months. At first I thought it was terrible but entertaining for an occasional oddball OHK. However, the more I used it the better I got with it and now I don't really think it's that UP anymore. I enjoy using it and I think I do OK with it even though I would not consider myself an expert. I run with it as a scout - that high CPU demand kinda bites, the rest of it is great. Re: tiers - the only thing I would like for higher tiers is reload time bonus and maybe a small buff to ammo.
Any other PC users out there? What are you thoughts on it.
PS. The way it is right is fine. I would not ask for a buff. It's a very niche weapon that attracts a few ppl. If it got a buff it would set off the hell cycle of fad > FOTM > QQ > nerf > rebalance > change mechanics of the weapon regardless whether or not it is buffed to be OP or simply a little better. |

its a nice little troll cannon, and i really mean troll... needless to say i seen others go 20+/0-4 with it and personally my best is 13/1 with it. but mostly its good old trolling fun. |

I thought the same thing when I first picked it up - going as far as coming here on the forums and requesting a change to it. I've been using it for AV mostly, though still find it pretty amusing to explode infantry with it when they're running towards me. It certainly is a niche weapon, and I'm beginning to enjoy it more each time I run with one.
I'm sure with the right fitting and backing gear it would make the weapon devastating at a higher tier. |

well, the plasma cannon might work in some situations but it has issue regardless of that. the biggest gripe about it is that it is bad as AV despite being a huge cannon on my shoulders, I am better off throwing AV grenades. |

I've been using it as my main weapon for the next 2 months and I love it, my personal best is 28-0, but I do think that it needs a direct damage buff if it's supposed to be an AV weapon (at least for the ADV and proto cannons). |

The Plasma Cannon supposed to be an area Bombardment / AV weapon ... and sucks at both of that things..Right now the Plasma Cannon is an "in-you-shoulder" OP shotgun. |

Well, when I read the weapon description it says close quarters combat. It still says that.
Now, I've read where CCP has said it's supposed to be for AV but come on. Who in their right minds would think that those stats could rival any of the other Av options? Whoever designed that weapon purposely designed it for infantry regardless of what they say.
Now we have all these people complaining about AV being too strong and yet we're going to add another one into the mix.
Sigh, just when I find a weapon that is refreshing and fun to use the people who suck with it and complain it's not good at doing something it obviously wasn't designed for are going to **** my favorite gun up.

I saw a guy bum rush a tank last night with a proto PC, he Fluxed it and then smashed it to pieces with his PC - I was impressed, something about that slow moving, arcing shot and then the giant explosion - very nice. |

grrr... I dont want plasma cannon to change. It is good as is. I kill tanks and LAV's with it and am getting used to using it against infantry also. Any change in this weapon will make it be used by other people who are only interested in using it if it where easier to USE.
CCP DO NOT DUMB DOWN THIS WEAPON!
The only change I deem necessary is a tweak to reload speed and charge time.
Changing the main skill from a 5% reduction to charge time to a 10% reduction to charge time and the rapid reload skill from 3% reduction to 10% reduction would make this gun good with it's current mechanics.
Changing anything else without taking the users, the real users into consideration would be wrong. I would hate to see this weapon being used as a FOTM. As it stands; the only reason the weapon is not used more is because people are lazy and do not want to learn how to use it. I personally invest 100 to 200 suits to learning how to use a weapon; and guess what, I do learn how to use it. The weapon is great but the bonuses given by the skills required to use it are not. Something as simple as changing what I just stated above will bring this weapon up to scrap |

It does very well againts paper tanks and can assist on real tanks, so no - not solo AV but back up AV and better than Breach MD at that. I vote it should stay where it is. CCP should not mess with it. |

Sorry - last second thought. It's also actually pretty useful on LAV. It cant hit them when they move but you know how LAVs hit walls after they try to run a bunch of infantry and by inertia keep going until they hit an object. It happens often enough to be able to take advantage of situation with PC - hit that LAV with a shell or two, btw it takes just over two shells to blow up a decent LAV, so very doable. |
