In due time DUST 514 will devolve in a state which the Section 8 series turned into. Without that much content (and for f*ck sakes to stop QQing) and bug fixes in a matter of time, the game is going to be just a single memory which lived in your hard drive.
What CCP intended was to make a game which involved a social community, a competetive experience, corps, Mercenary stuff, equipment that would help you on the battlefield and etc. This is exactly what they looked at. They only forgot one thing.
What every FPS game needs. STABILITY.
CCP misconcieved its own plan on this First Person Shooter. They weren't ready for this type of challenge. They just looked at eachother and said,"First Person shooter?" "Let me turn on my alienware computer and get started."
I bet you they didnt tell their first person shooter, whatever why they're called, developers what they would have been up to once they put their signatures on the contract. I know patch fixes take a long time, but thats because they dont know what they would fix or not. Yes feedback does help, but thats whats going to make people furious and butthurt. They arent balanced, they dont have their pros and cons alike.
For those of you who thinks that this was a QQ thread, its not. Its DUST's defenition of today and tomorrow its name will become what its made of.
This isnt some walk in the park. CCP had the wrong idea of adding more elements in the game than a normal FPS should have. Yes. I know its more than an fps. An mmo.
Conclusion: CCP should make sure that their light bulb is on. They should put their reading glasses on and proof read and scrap what would make the game impossible to fix in their plans or its going to become a wasteland.

Dust isn't MMO. Eve's an MMORPG, Dust is an RPGFPS. Their biggest problem was trying to incorporate a full on RPG style system to an FPS and then trying to connect that like, almost completely to an MMORPG. And there are issues that come with trying to connect a game with absolutely no economy (because people get ISK for doing literally nothing) to a game with an extremely robust economy.
The RPG shooters I can think of don't have as in depth of a skill sheet as this game could have, only because it's clearly not finished.
I'm not a fanboi for CCP, I think this game has its lame moments, but if they decide not to trash this project it could potentially be excellent. |

I hope you're wrong cause I have good times in Dust, win or lose. And really, Section 8 felt doomed from the start. I don't get that feeling with Dust. I feel it won't be fully realized until later on. Maybe it's just me, but I haven't experienced a game like Dust before. |

Same.
And I hope they don't kill it for the PS3 when the PS4 comes out. That would make me a saaaaaad panda |
