Like, the corp? <== If you mean that, then BOOOO! Down with corps!!!! You're not a mercenary if you're part of a corporation, you're just a stooge. I should be able to put out an application for any corp to see so they can see if they want me to fight for them or not.. PvE or PvP.
Or a place for new people to learn the game. <== If you mean that, then yeah, have it like the second stage of BA where you get to go out and party all night long then wake up 20 mins before your exams start. |

Boba Fett was the best Bounty Hunter/Merc ever and was always held accountable for his actions, he was just too bad assed to care.
And if it's a corp it's already official. And clearly people learn to play at dust university, otherwise why name it "university"? Name it Dust Nut Busters "because you gettin' busted!" That would be their slogan.

Well, I couldn't give two ***** about the Amarr Empire. They haven't given me anything good, but since I can't not be aligned to anything and be a hermit that can clone into random battles that matter and change the outcome of things(for the team I'm on, because if I'm anything I'm a team player(not the corp)), I'll have to stick with these jabronies.
I want to be a random Heavy anchor essentially. As long as the team I'm on is good I'm good. |

It would be nice though but not necessary.
Eve University (our sister corp) has been around for 10 years in Eve Online and they have been doing fine without the official stamp from CCP. Won't don't think we need that either here in Dust. |

I didn't learn anything from Dust University. How does running with 5 noobs like you all the time help you?
Just type LFS in local and you will get the same.
New players should apply for a friendly (not too big and competitive) corporation, they will fight along decent players and learn from them. |

Participation is key. You can't just join Dust University and expect us hand knowledge to you. If you're not willing to take time out of your free time to sit down and listen to volunteers (who are also taking time out of their free time) as they give lectures, and participate in Q&A's after classes are over with, then of course it's going to look like local chat.
On top of that, everyone teaches and learns differently. |

You refer to stats, you're a noob. ^_^
Doesn't really need to happen honestly, when CCP starts making things official, they start meddling in Player Affairs which although it might seem like a good idea, really isn't, I promise.

What does it mean? You can farm newbs? You can hack stuff repeatedly? The only thing that proves something is you beating someone in competitive combat. Noob ;)

:-) @ Jason, baiting, me thinks someone is a bit bored ATM ^^
Back on topic again
Diedra and the team have been at the EvE uni thing for a long ole while and know what they are doing.
They have had Dust uni going for a small length of time now and I'm sure all the basics are in place, however perhaps if someone has had issues and not known how to escalate and participate in proper training, surely this could be highlighting a potential issue with the start off communications.
Perhaps either too many Corp mails or ill worded mails.
They should get a sticky perhaps in rookie training grounds if they pull together a well worded post and links to their site for support.
However to be honest the way they should get most of our cannon fodder is by us pointing them at dust unit's direction

LOL I was not talking about YOU. I meant D-UNI is full of noobs and "you", FRESH NEW PLAYER, are most likely to play with more FRESH NEW PLAYERS all the time without learning actual team work. We are aggressive, aren't we?
Chill out, seriously.
On a side note, stats are meaningless. If are laughing at my 1100 kills and my humble KDR (it's not that bad for someone who joined DUST 2 months ago), then you are doing it wrong. |

Funnily enough, I wasn't actually talking crap, just making a point that stats mean nothing.
I never said I was good either, I maintain over a 7 KDR because I am a scrub and refuse to sit there and die, I farm and I get rage mails. Like I said, stats don't mean you're good or bad, I know good players who have a 2.5 KDR and I know bad ones with over 10.
CBs in beta? oooh wow, who cares? I've played plenty of PC battles (Around 300 I think? I don't know, ask one of the SI historians), your little number means **** all, noob :D

I once joined Dust University. It was disgraceful. As far as I can tell, the only thing that happened was people squading up. No classes, no questions or answers, and the squads were quite noobish. If there are classes and support and such, I was not properly made aware of it, which means either way Dust University failed. EVE University worked because it actually had people who actively supported the students.
You could blame some of that on the way Dust 514 works compared to EVE, but regardless, Dust University is at least partially to blame for its own misgivings. Either way, I learned more from playing solo than I ever did at Dust University. Dust University was, simply put, a massive waste of time. |

dust university is a rather large corporation and their just getting started with their teaching programs and even how they certify their instructors. as of right now lectures are available on what is now beginning to be a regular basis and other structured teaching programs starting to be implemented. D-Uni is still in its infancy just like dust but the leadership is getting the groundwork done and getting the corp finally started on the teaching side. please remember d-uni is completely player driven and the instructors and leadership is purely VOLUNTEER based their not getting paid(not even in d-isk yet) for the services they are providing.
p.s. how long ago were you in keri as if it was over a month ago there probably wasnt that much happening. |

How long ago did you leave? Things are getting better right now and our structure is improving. Keep in mind that Eve-Uni started out the same way. There is no such thing as a corp that is born great. |
