 Not to step on your toes Mr. Calvin B but I thought of this today when I shot a Thale's user...love that...
 
 why don't we simply get what we kill...?
 
 I kill a Thale's=I get a Thale's
 
 Kill a Tank=get their Turret or Tank, but not both
 
 just the weapons and not the suit, mods, etc....
 
 thoughts...
 
 what could be wrong with that...

 In would be happy with a 2% chance to salvage any random thing off any of your kills be it a shield extender to a militia assault rifle to a local power grid expander. Just a price of what we kill sometimes

 No prob more notice is better than no notice. We need more salvageable items, also here is one that may get people out of AFK. What if you found salvage lying on the battlefield and was able to recover it, like lost tech from past civilizations. Unique weapons and vehicles. Is this not how we found our clone technology.

 When I first started playing this game that is exactly how I thought it worked. I wish it did, and that officer weapons only came up at random in FW battles.

 For many people what they use and what they kill are totally different, drivers and AVers are the most obvious examples. And also there would still need to be a random element for officer drops so why change it at all.

 vehicle players need some vehicle salvage, i'm tired of get things i will never use, at least in chromosome we were rewarded with marauders and dropships sometime.

 Make it so explosive kills destroy items so they are unsalvagable. That should help with all the complaints about OHKO Core Locus nades, nade spam, MD spam, MD+flux spam, etc. since you get less items (which eventually will mean less profit) using explosive weapons.
 
 and furthermore, headshot kills could mean more salvage as we can assume more items on the dropsuit fitting are left intact.
