I've thought about this idea from time to time. Since this is an MMO to an extent, what would people think of the idea of enemies droppping loot when they were killed? It could replace the salvage, and have the highest chance for them to drop their least expensive or meta level item, with a lower chance to get their more expensive and higher meta items. The idea could be tweaked or reoworked, as to have only a 50% chance of a loot drop or so forth.
Like as I said earlier it is only a concept that I thought would be cool, but I made this topic for discussion so I'd appriciate feedback thanks. |

While it could be a potentially cool idea for infantry units, people that fly proto-dropships such as me would never get to earn their drops after killing them because we're in the air. Honestly, what i think would fix the whole salvage issue is if people actually were given salvage for each player killed depending on what they were using at that time, and the variation of what they earn could change. For example, everytime you kill a player you should earn x1 of their weapon they were using, and if you eventually get say, 5 kills on 1 person, you then earn x1 of their suit, or their whole fitting even, and at the end of the match you can see how many weapons, suits, etc you ended up collecting.
The same should be done for vehicles as well, if you take out a tank yourself, you should earn their turrets & modules or something, and if you can destroy it 2 times, you get x1 of that vehicle. It's very basic and should have already been what CCP was doing, but of course, CCP Shanghai is just flat out dumb when it comes to making an immersive game on all levels. |

All good points, I agree. Vehicle users would be punished with this mechanic, but I guess redline snipers would also get punished, but deservable so. Maybe loots only appear for you and don't disappear until end of battle. Or an ambush style game mode where no vehicles with this loot mechanic. |

I think there should be a chance that every player (even friendely ones) that die should drop loot which would be dropt in to a pool of all looted gear. And at the end of the match the loot would be devided between the players of the winning team true war points earned. This would solve the vehicles user problem and at the same time provide incentives to win and to not afk. |

Fairly certain that pub matches are eventually going to have a similar salvage system to PC battles. Something was said at fanfest IIRC. |

I would like to go ahead and thank all of the redliners and other snipers for leaving treasures on the field, should this ever happen. |

It would get people used to EvE mechanics. Imagine the ninja salvaging escapades though |

I specialize in wormhole ninja salvaging, I can fully say that if such a mechanic were in dust, I don't I'd ever fire a weapon. Hahaha. |
