I was thinking about starting an alt, just wondering if alts get their own bonus SP, or do alts and mains share the same bonus SP pool? |

They have their own bonus SP, but only one character at a time can receive passive SP. Unless you buy a passive booster for that character.
Augmentations aren't shared either. |

Thinking of creating a pure turret gunner for a little more relaxed play style when my main runs out of bonus SP. Is this something the tank community is in need of, or could they care less about having a dedicated gunner? |

Better have a tanker in mind. Most don't like when they get a stranger on board. |

I suspect you'll find more dropships looking for gunners than HAVs. Check out this thread for discussion of chat channels where pilots might be looking for gunners: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1159015#post1159015
As to creating an alt, most people create a separate PSN account for each alt. Since your alt will be the 'main' dust toon on that PSN account, it'll collect passive SP, unlike if you fill the second or third character slots on the account you already have. Though you might think CCP would frown on players doing this, they seem to have no official stance on it, and I've never heard of anyone suffering any negative consequences...probably because it would be pretty much impossible for them to prevent.
There's been some speculation about whether this practice is going to bite us all in the *** if Dust moves to the PS4, given the talk about having to pay for online access on that platform. That's a whole other can of worms, though... |

Yea I had actually emailed CCP (or who ever is on the other end of [email protected]) about creating an account for my friend. He doesn't have a PS3 yet and I figured he could make an account on my PS3 and let it sit and accrue SP until he has a PS3. They said it wasn't a problem, but to be honest i'm a bit leery about the situation. Not that I don't trust CCP, but I don't think it's to ridiculous to imagine scenarios such as this being abused and people getting in trouble, and I definitely don't wanna have an account on my system that's been sitting idle building up SP for months on end if and when this ever became an issue. I guess if my friend really wants to play I could just tell him HTFU ;-) |

That's a whole other can of worms, though... It won't be a problem. since you'll only need one active PS+ user on the console for all other users to play online. Also Dust may not even require Plus anyway, since they're removing the requirement for f2p games online. |

Wait a minute, so I can buy a passive booster and place into my Alt's augmentations? So I will have the selected passive SP running on my primary and the alt would have the bought with aurum passive booster running simultaneously? |

As far as I know, yes, though I've never actually tried this for myself so I cannot say for sure. |
