Ok, I'll be honest, this is more than a little ambitious, so stay with me. I also understand that this would be a year in the making, at a best that is more delusional, really. Sorry, CCP, but you guys are not really known for speed.
Incursions. This would be a massive incursion on eve side by Sansha's Nation. Typical incursions generally occur over a few constellations at a time, if I remember right (never really got involved in them, so don't assume my info is perfectly correct).
This would be lighting up Most of Factional Warfare space all at the same time, and possibly spilling out and into other regions of space as well. Eve side would be large enough to involve anyone who wanted to all at the same time, but it would also be helped by dust in a way that is big enough to get capsuleers actually talking about dust in a way that isn't sad jokes about how none of them care about it.
Dust side, would be an event that would bear some similarities to the Templar Hunt, in that both sides would be played by players. HOWEVER, there are some things that the TH did wrong that will will be doing right here:
1: SP WILL BE PRESPENT. Simple as that. Players can earn more and expand the event character, but the starting stuff will be taken care of 2:BP'S FOR THE EVENT CHARACTERS WILL HAVE NO SKILL REQUIREMENT. THIS AVOIDS STUPIDITY. They will, of course, be locked to the character, however. 3:EVENT CHARACTER GEAR WILL BE POWERED UP ABOVE NORMAL TO MAKE A FIGHT OUT OF TAKING THEM DOWN. We will not just have a few guys running around in different colored suits, or using fancy weapons, but an actual change in the fight against them. 4:THEY WILL FIGHT ON TEAMS THAT ARE REDUCED IN SIZE! This will keep incursion characters from dominating fights entirely. Their weapons and gear will make taking them down more of a group effort, but the reduction in numbers will make this effort more managable 5: INCURSION PLAYERS WILL BE RESTRICTED TO AN AUTOMATED QUEING SYSTEM, which I will explain later.
Now, on the dust side, there will be plenty of fights that pop up under merc battles. The reason for the incursion happening in fw space is to help push players on both ends of the game into the incursion, and to have an actual impact on the eve side, as well as encourage dust players looking for merc fights to participate.
Now, in addition to merc fights on the ground, there will also be some in space, in ships and stations, at particular instances, specially the mothership. Players in dust can help players in eve by shutting down systems on said stations and ships, slowing down others, and even damaging the stupid things from the inside. Also, battles won in dust should help reduce the incursion a bit.
Now, incursion characters are specifically Sansha forces. They are buffed up to help keep it in line with incursion mechanics and to make for a switch up on dust gameplay. They will all be restricted to being in a corp for sansha's nation, and restricted to those chat channels. Their matching que will put them into incursion matches, but once in a while, throw a squad into a pub fight so everyone gets a taste and a chance to get rewards for killing them. The idea for the matching que is so that they are largely forced into incursion battles so that those can run, instead of just letting them pub stomp the crap out of everyone.
Now, rewards are to be handed out like candy. Killing Sansha troops gives more isk and sp than normal, we'll say 1.5 the normal amount. Participating in incursion fights gives more isk and sp as well, enough to make running protofits actually profitable (they will be required anyway). Winning grants all manner of wonderful salvage to make everyone happy, and participating in yay number of incursion fights gets kit rewards, like current events do. Also, there should be similar rewards for the event characters that can be granted to the character of their choosing on those accounts.
Now, after this event, the sansha side will be fought by regular players being hired like in any other merc battle, until you guys can implement an ai for it.
Now, reasons for doing this include: 1:TOTALLY SUPER BADASS EVENT OF AWESOMENESS 2: further merging of dust and eve, this time, in a way that effects more than one tiny corner of new eden that most people don't even know exists. 3: this could be used as a way to test and hash out mechanics for boarding parties on pos's and titans, which I heard was in the pipe. 4: getting dust players more interested in the universe they are currently intent on blowing up |

A well thought out idea, but the focus is on core mechanics (hit detection, etc) I would love to see this, but a majority of good ideas on these forums require the game to be out of beta, which it isn't. I play eve as well, and I don't want a separate game messing with my galaxy until it is functional, with less programming errors for people to exploit. |

First, I said that this is a year off at best, and that's being delusionally optimistic.
Second, this game went commercial as of May 14th. It is officially no longer beta (even though I agree that it should be)
Third, I agree, there is a lot of work to be done BEFORE they do this. I just wanted to put the idea out there.
