So yeah, like the title has anyone else ever thought of doing this? Have you done this? Can you just punch without a weapon equipped? I haven't tried it yet the idea just dawned on me
Make a DS outfit with nothing but myrofibril stimulants, tank, and stamina boosters. The minmatar suit that gives the bonus to melee damage seems the obvious choice.
As for me I'm hoping to make this fit just for those close quarters situations and maps where beating the crap out enemy clones will surely cause the optimal amount of gamer rage. |

the fitting has to have 1 weapon, or you wont be allowed to use it. if you're going to make a melee character, put nova knives on it. |

Yeah, I beat the $hit outta SoTa PoP once with my bare merc fists and he cried.
It was so funny, we-- the ole beta testers-- all sat around and laughed at him and he cried and he cried.
Finally, I felt so sorry for him and I stated: "SoTa, I know you're but Imperfect, but I just want you to know that your pummeling is anything but unjust, and that it's not too late for you to repent and seek a better life in DUST 514."
...and so it began.

Actually the Minmatar Scout is -not- the optimal choice. Only has 80hp base damage and 3 high slots.
Minmatar Assault is best. 110 base damage, 5 high slots, higher health, not significantly slower, has built-in armour repair. With 5 Complex Myofibrils and 2 Complex Kinetics it's punching for 600 damage with a sprint of around 9.6m/s. |

I've been running melee suits for a while, the ideal suit is currently the proto minmatar assault
max skills and 5 myo stims you get 594 melee damage, a good combination is 3 myo stims and 2 shield extenders (420 melee damage)
in the lows you want either a sprint speed mod and a stamina mod, or 2 stamina mods |

Acing mercs with your bare hands is just about the funniest thing to do in this game. Btw, if you ever see Riprising the logistics in a match against you, do NOT let him within slapping distance. |

Wow.
I never really realized that mercs were runnin' such variants...pretty cool, although a little scary at the same time ;-))
...almost 600 melee damage..sheeesh.

Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated. To the guy that mentioned use nova knives, I know they would do more damage, but it's the point of using your bare mitts that I'm interested in.
I've melee'ed down a number of people with my gun stock, but there's something special about punching them out. |

I remember back in Chromo I made a fitting with the adv scout type 2, that was back when all but this one had the same melee damage. For whatever reason, this suit had double, the standard and proto versions didn't, but the adv did.
So I ended up doing over 400 damage with a single smack of the scrambler pistol |

It's impossible to go barehanded, but meleeing people with a box (err, nanohive) in your hands is one of the most satisfying things I have ever done in this game. |

They need to allow you to just switch to an empty weapon slot so you just throw some strong punches at a slightly faster rate than you can swing a weapon. That would make my day. |
